I don't think he was killed because of what he wrote few days ago in atimes.com, I think he was killed because of what he knew and was going to write in the future. Just my two cents.

I hate to say it I truly believe Navy (or ISI on behalf of the Navy) is a suspect in this murder. Al-quaeda does not kill journalist who advertise their cause. All road lead to the Navy. The journalist must have exposed the real responsible for the Mehran attack.

Does any body have the copy of the article he wrote that caused his death? May be he never got a chance to publish it


Update: Or it could be CIA/RAW/Mossad to take advantage to implicate the ISI

I also believe that they did not want to kill him but it happened . ( During interrogation he got heart attack and died ).

i suspect that shahzad although got hold of some alqaida operatives in navy but a high profile nave officer who still seems to work in navy was not identified ...

He might have removed shahzad in frustration of his friends being caught....or may be it could be navy investigation team who would have taken him on remand .Even small torture can cause attack to people who have certain diseases

He was already suffering of some disease/problems due to a bullet injury
