PTI CIS Omar Sarfraz Cheema has Condemned the Ruthless Bloodshed in Karachi (Aug 20, 2011)

Lahore 20th Aug:

Pakistan Tehreek I Insaf Central Information Secretary Omar Sarfraz Cheema has condemned the ruthless bloodshed in Karachi. He said the government's incompetence and lack of will to deal with the Karachi situation has been exposed as the authorities have been unable to deal with the crisis. He also said that the statement passed by Interior Minister Rehman Malik today ridiculed the situation. According to the recently selected national award winner, the whole situation in Karachi is due to 'bhatta' extortionists. This is a slap in the face of the families who have lost loved ones. The blood of over a hundred citizens who have been ruthlessly killed has a graver background and statements such as this negate the crisis being face by the citizens living in Karachi. That the three ruling parties, the PPP, MQM and ANP have not managed to control the bloodshed is a clear indication that all are involved and that they are prepared to be ruthless to gain power in the industrial hub of the country

How seriously the ruling parties are taking this horrific situation is clearly seen as Mian Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the second largest party in the country, has once more taken a flight out to Saudia Arabia instead of visiting Sindh. Mian Nawaz had previously said he would visit the province to show his unity with the people of the city that has succumbed to violence of severe magnitude.
Cheema said that PTI condoles with the families of the victims. He said that every citizen in Pakistan is praying for the bloodbath to end and feels deeply for the families for whom this eid will bring nothing but tears. Criminals and terrorists have ruined the spirit of Ramazan and we as Muslims should be ashamed of keeping silent over the deadly battle in Karachi. It is time to rise and drive these incompetent rulers out of the Assemblies.

The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has said that the continued economic slide coupled with the breakdown of law an order in Karachi would lead to an economic collapse. He said our economy is in a state of stagflation with little or no economic growth and high inflation.

The PTI Chief said that electricity shortfall in Faisalabad alone has resulted in massive unemployment. If the present chaos and gang war fare is not controlled in Karachi a city which is the economic hub of the country, Pakistan faces imminent economic collapse. Already the Rupee dollar parity is slipping fast. The currency of even Nepal is stronger then Pakistan. The Rs. 5 trillion loan acquired over the last 60 years has doubled to Rs. 10 trillion since the present government came to power. How can a country with 80 percent of the population on the fringe of extreme poverty repay the loans borrowed by our corrupt leaders through indirect taxes. There is limit to taxing the poor through indirect taxation.

Imran Khan said Pakistans control has to be wrested back from thugs and scoundrels masquerading as politicians. The sooner this government is removed from power, the greater the chances of Pakistans recovery. The present government is democracys worst example in a country where democratic institutions have yet take roots. If the people are allowed to suffer the economic and other hardships under the present government, a time would come when they would lose hope of any positive change through a democratic process.
