China agrees to control Gwadar Port.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence, Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar said that China and Pakistan have agreed to work jointly to establish peace in the region. China will be handed over the control of Gwadar Port when Singapore Auhtority’s tenure would come to an end.

He revealed that China has also decided to give FC-20 jets to Pak Air Force while Pakistan had requested China to give a frigate of 44,000 tonnes weight on credit.
On the other hand, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani has rejected the decision of handing over the Gwadar Port to China because the federal government did not take the provincial government into confidence. He said that Balochistan government has ability to handle the port.

how much kick back did zardari get? Raisani is right on this. Provincial govt must have been taken into confidence otherwise Balochis will feel deprived and there would not be any peace to run this port.

At the moment the Gawadar port is under the control of Singapore, does it means Pakistan is under their control?

If it is under China, it is good in two senses, first of all it would be a slap on the face of USA, who pressured Pakistan not to get China access to Gawadar.

When china start to use this port, it would increase the activity and it may result in expansion of the port, giving chances for the local population. Secondly, it would improve the infrastructure, if China move the goods using roads, we can have an alternative back bone of roads through Baluchistan, for the length of Pakistan, benefiting all the areas, in Baluchistan, KPK and in Norther Areas.

We want to get rid of USA from Our Country and from Afghanistan, once that is done, your number is next, just wait patiently, your days are coming soon.

stupid CM raisani is an awar and laundey baaz old crap. All he is looking for is a $1million then he will be all supportive.

No I am damn serious, there is no sarcasm as well. India and China fought a war despite that we have a good relationship with them. We have huge trade with China. There are 300,000 Chinese visit India annually and 500,000 Indians visit China, its estimated one million visitors will visit each other by the end of the decade.

On this basis I present my views perhaps China can explain to Pakistanis that there are million ways to " skin a cat", a matter of speech only, no offense intended to the Chinese LOL..

China will run the port more efficiently than the Singapore, no doubt. Hopefully they will connect central Asia to this port as well so that the port in busy employing thousands of people in Pakistan. China will not save any money using this port only shorten the delivery time for its goods to Europe.

Lets see what Baluchis do now? I appreciate the first colony of China in Pakistan. Pakistan pretty much accepted that Baluchistan is out of its hand now. Soon Dera Bughti and Western frontiers of Pakistan would be leased out to china, I guess.

Man, you do not understand it at all. Karachi port is over used, it is working full capacity most of the time, thats why we build second port in Karachi, to lessen the load on main Karachi port (trust). Having the third viable port in Pakistan is the need of Pakistan for the future progress.

Secondly, it would give economic impetus for Balochistan, which it needs. It may be loosing money because at the moment not enough traffic plus there is still need to improve the city and its facilities. You probably do not know, but Pakistan has already built M8 linking this port to center of Pakistan and to existing back bone road network, north to south.

So, we just have to run this road further west and northward to have an alternative road south to north. All the areas along this road would flourish from increase of economic activities. Balochistan and southern part of KPK needs it, also the Northern Area would benefit from a Motorway running through to China. It would cut the journey time to northern area from the existing road work.

Despite what you think Pakistan has good road network, including world standard motorways, and in next few years whole length of the country would covered by motorways. So if we build another Motorway, spinning from M8 westward towards Quetta and Peshawar, Pakistan would have excellent roads covering its width and breadth.
