So? Neither COAS nor CJ will be allowed to select Pmln again.

I meant to say that new CJ and new COAS wouldn’t be as friendly to PTI as the current CJ and COAS are. All it means that PMLN is not out of race.
Perhaps. But current COAS was selected by NS. Perhaps IK won’t make the same mistake of selecting an unfriendly COAS?

Doesn't matter. They won't be allowed to become friendly towards Pmln.
There is a lot of resentment against PMLN from the rank and file in the armed forces. They don’t buy the line that nawaz is only attacking COAS and ISI chief - they see it as an attack on themselves.
the central Punjab stronghold being mentioned by Hussain above in this thread also have strong links with rank and file, I’m pretty sure some (if not most) will have similar sentiments
