we find in masnad imam ahmad, vol 4
حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبي حدثنا حماد بن سلمة أنبأنا علي بن زيد عن عدي بن ثابت عن البراء بن عازب قال:
(كنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فنزلنا بغدير خم فنودي فينا الصلاة جامعة وكسح لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم تحت شجرتين فصلى الظهر وأخذ بيد علي رضي الله تعالى عنه فقال ألستم تعلمون أني أولى بالمؤمنين من أنفسهم قالوا بلى قال ألستم تعلمون أني أولى بكل مؤمن من نفسه قالوا بلى قال فأخذ بيد علي فقال من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه اللهم وال من والاه وعاد من عاداه قال فلقيه عمر بعد ذلك فقال له هنيئا يا ابن أبي طالب أصبحت وأمسيت مولى كل مؤمن ومؤمنة
قال أبو عبد الرحمن حدثنا هدبة بن خالد حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن علي بن زيد عن عدي بن ثابت عن البراء بن عازب عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نحوه).

bara bin azib said that we were with the holy prophet when we reached ghadeer; so call for salat was given; and prophet offered the prayer of zuhur; and then hold the hand of ali asws;
and said "am i not having more authority that momins over their lives?"
we said "yes";
he said "whosoever i am mola of, ali is his mola; o allah! be friend to his friend; and be enemy to his enemy"
then umar said "blessed you are o ali ibn abi talib! u had this evening when u become the mola of momin and momina"
keep one thing in mind

this hadeeth has two chains;
and i ll give u takhreej of both
ahmad shakir said about the first chain
ahmad shakir says in the foot notes of first one that it is there in sunan ibn maja as well
i checked it out there; in SAHIN SUNAN IBN MAJA
which has takhreej of albani
it is there on page 56, vol 1, hadeeth 94-115
and albani says that
وقال عبد الرزاق: أنا معمر، عن علي بن زيد بن جدعان، عن عدي بن ثابت، عن البراء بن عازب قال: خرجنا مع رسول الله حتى نزلنا غدير خم بعث منادياً ينادي.
فلما اجتمعنا قال: ((ألست أولى بكم من أنفسكم ؟))
قلنا: بلى يا رسول الله !.
قال: ((ألست أولى بكم من أمهاتكم ؟)).
قلنا: بلى يا رسول الله.
قال: ((ألست أولى بكم من آبائكم ؟)).
قلنا: بلى يا رسول الله !.
قال: ((ألست ألست ألست ؟)).
قلنا: بلى يا رسول الله.
قال: ((من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه، اللهم والِ من والاه، وعادِ من عاداه)).
فقال عمر بن الخطاب: هنيئاً لك يا ابن أبي طالب أصبحت اليوم ولي كل مؤمن.

Kufi - Al-Bara' b. `Azib b. al-Harith al-Awsi al-Ansari:
Traveling with the Messenger of Allah, we stopped at the pond of Khumm
and the Prophet sent someone to call upon people to gather. When we came
together he said: ‘Do I not have more right with you than your own selves?’
We said: ‘Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah!’ He continued: ‘Do I not have
more right with you than your mothers?’ We said: ‘Yes indeed, O Messenger of
Allah!’ He continued: ‘Do I not have more right with you than your fathers?’
We replied: ‘Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah!’ He kept asking ‘Do I not
have’, and we kept answering ‘Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah!’ He
concluded: ‘To whomever I am his master, ‘Ali is his master. O' God, love
those who love him, and be hostile to those who are hostile to him.’ 'Umar b.
al-Khattab said: ‘Congratulations O Ibn Abi Talib, today you have become the
master of every believer.’

فرازِ دار سے میثم بیان دیتے ہیں
رہے گا ذکرِ علی ہم زبان دیتے ہیں
علی کی جائے ولادت کی جب بھی بات چلی
کہا خدا نے ہم اپنا مکان دیتے ہیں
صفیں بناؤ محبّو کہ دار سے میثم
نمازِ عشقِ علی کی اذان دیتے ہیں
دوسرے مصرعے کا لُطف اُٹھانے کیلئے یہ تاریخی حوالہ ذہن میں رہے کہ جنابِ میثم تمار کی زبان فقط اِس جُرم پر کاٹ دی گئی تھی کہ آپ کی زبان سے فضائلِ علی کا دریا جاری رہتا تھا ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ !۔
