mental slavery is a real thing. our educational system, perpetuates it. Bani Israel after the time of Yusuf (AS) till the time of Musa (AS) were enslaved with various Pharoahs. They see the Pharoah at the time of Musa drown infront of their eyes, whereas seconds earlier they were complaining to Musa(AS) tum nay hamain marwa diya, agay pani peechay firaun.

Then after this they wanted to worship the calf, because the egyptians did it. and we see our selves copying hollywood, bollywood and even turkish stuff. the last being better, but again lack of self-identity.

At the end Allah tells Musa (AS) and Bani Israel, just enter the city (probably Jerusalem) and the inhabitants will leave. What did they say: Musa, you and your lord fight, we are gonna sit here, because they are powerful (ventilator anyone). Although the physical slavery had been removed but the mental one had remained. Ulema say that the 40 year punishment of wandering the desert was for all those who had been physically enslaved died out, and Yusha bin Noon (AS) took over the new generation that they finally entered.

Although we have been physically freed 75 years ago, but mental slavey in form of education, mil and civil estab has persisted. What will our wandering be ? A civil war, all of us 30+ dying out and truly the youth taking over or will this system keep grinding them into slavery as we have been. Allahu Alam.
Thanks for sharing the insight and the relative comparison. Reminds me of Sir Israr's lectures. May Allah will help us. Ameen.

O chacha,
i am anti Imran and anti-pti because they were just finger puppets of the Army GHQ (and PTI being totally composed of hypocrite Lotays).

Oh yeah, and I have know Pakistanis, who are doctors, engineers, accountants, business owners, etc. It really depends who you know, and what your company of friends is. Most of the people I referred are 2nd or 3rd generation Pakistanis and are pretty vocal for their rights and extremely ambitious and career oriented.
Rather than basing your judgement on a few individuals you know, I suggest go and do some basic google search abt poverty levels, educational achievements and progression of various ethnic communities in England. Unfortunately we Pakistanis are at the bottom of the pile.

well that's a sociological issue then. In my opinion, nothing in UK or the US stops Pakistanis from achieving their goals. I have a good company of friends and I am happy with it.
