Support Demand for MOHAJIR Province

Petition published by Dr saleem Haider on Apr 02, 2012

[TD="align: right"] 4 Signatures [/TD]

Target: President&Parliament of Pakistan
Region: Pakistan
Petition Background (Preamble):

The Muslim population of Minority provinces of un divided India migrated to new country Pakistan and sacrificed life of 2 million people. Founder M A. jinnah announced karachi to be capital of the country and majority Migrants settled in Karachi. Capital was transferred to Punjab and Migrants were left on the mercy of anti mohajir sindhis who are not ready to accept equal rights for mohajir population, hence a separate mohajir province demand is ultimate solution.
Petition:

We the undersigned demand the President and Parliament of Pakistan to take notice of grievances of mohajir nationality in sindh province. The karachi city Govt. is abondoned, mohajirs kicked out of sindh Beaurucracy, Jobs are limited to sindhis only, everyday mohajirs are killed on streets, became impossible to run businesses in karachi and hyderabad, mohajir youth is killed in interior sindh educational univ. and colleges, law and order situation in the majority mohajir city karachi is worst in whole the world, mohajirs are treated like slaves but since mohajirs are patriotic pakistanis and there is no way remained when sindhis and mohajirs can live in together.

It's logical to accept mohajirs demand for a separate administrative unit as mohajir province comprising of mohajir majority local bodies in karachi, hyderabad, mirpurkhas, divisions and some part of sukkur, the only solution to stop mass killings and control unrest in sindh part of pakistan........................ The whole mohajir nation slogans today that ............ Jeenay ka Mansooba hu ga- Jab mohajir sooba hu ga.. sindh may hu ga kaisay guzara-Adha tumhara.Adha hamara.

Please see my draft blog which I am sharing with you people:
Mohajir Nationalism and its detrimental effect on Pakistan

There is no question that ‘Mohajir’ people made a huge contribution in making Pakistan a nation. It was hard for the ancestors of the current generation to leave their homes and the graves of their forefathers and come to Pakistan. Indeed this was a big sacrifice. Furthermore, it must be appreciated that generally the people belonging to this background are highly educated and they form the backbone of Pakistan’s economy.

However, we must distinguish between two terms which are used synonymously; ‘Urdu Speaking’ and ‘Mohajir’ people. The later term ‘mohajir’ in the most simplest form means immigrant and the ‘Urdu Speaking’ term relates to those people who speak Urdu and many people living in Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Baluchistan can relate themselves to being ‘Urdu Speaking’ and this fits in with our national language being Urdu.

Integration of communities in the local and national culture is considered as an important factor for societies. The UK is the perfect example where ‘Multiculturalism’ was formed as a basis for society where people from different backgrounds could live together in harmony. However, with the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] of July bombings this concept came under attack. Former conservative minister Norman Tebitt advocated for abolishing ‘multiculturalism’ in favour of ‘dominant culture’ where different groups had to fit in and accept the culture of the Majority.

However, Karachi is one city where many different cultures exist and yet there is a complete lack of harmony and people are murdered motivated for political aims in order to strengthen the vote banks of their ethnic groups parties represent. The recent demand for the ‘Mohajir’ province which is covertly backed by MQM has increased tensions particularly between Sindhis and Mohajir people. The question which is disturbing is why do ‘Mohajir’ people still consider themselves today as Immigrants?

We must logically assess the implication of a person calling themselves as an ‘immigrant’. Firstly an Immigrant is ‘a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country’ this is the definition given by the Oxford Paperback Dictionary and Thesaurus (Third Edition 2009). The most horrific fact is that a person who considers himself an immigrant does not regard himself belonging to the country he has migrated to. Although some may dispute this, however, the evidence is stated in the definition that you are migrating to a ‘foreign country’. More interestingly, the very idea of an Immigrant province is absurd as no where in the world is this idea entertained!

On balance, we must consider the reasons why ‘Mohajir’ people want this province? They feel insecure and there is also an inbred feeling that although Altaf Hussain may not be the perfect person, however, he in their eyes is considered genuinely to be a saviour of ‘Mohajir’ people and MQM is considered to protect their rights. Although ground realities, as we all know are different. Therefore, there appears to be an inbred fear of leaving MQM. No matter how many are murdered they will carry on supporting MQM. This mindset allows Altaf Hussain to misuse ‘Mohajir’ people for his selfish aims of joining corrupt governments, whilst the poor ‘Mohajir’ people suffer in Urban Sindh and endure great difficulty with inflation, Unemployment, gas and electricity shortages and the volatile violence which plagues Karachi, On the other hand, Altaf Hussain sits in London totally immune to the difficulties of the Mohajir people with his lavish lifestyle.

An inference is often drawn from the tone of a ‘Mohajir’ nationalist that the Mohajir people have been persecuted, are ’poor’ and victims of the state. This propaganda has been used repeatedly by MQM in order to maintain its vote bank. The reality could not be far from the truth, Pakistan has never targeted ‘Mohajir’ people, and the hatred is against a group of extortionists, criminals and terrorists.

Unfortunately the ‘Mohajir’ people who call themselves with this term and support MQM are defeating themselves and also Pakistan. Due to this mindset, young talented generations have been sucked into ethnic politics, instead of entering national political arena. The net loss of this to Pakistan has been huge. Some have entered the politics of violence. On the whole, this is a very sorry story which makes one sad for the ‘Mohajir’ people and Pakistan nationally.

The Impact on Sindhi people of this ‘Mohajir’ nationalism is a profound betrayal of the care and hospitality they gave, when they arrived from India. It is the nightmare of every Sindhi that their mother province will be broken. One can imagine in the long term, the ethnic strife that this will cause and its impact on Pakistan will be deeply negative for cohesion and racial harmony.

I believe people in the ‘Mohajir’ community need to be challenged on this mindset and be given a genuine alternative to accommodate them into Pakistani nationalism. The challenge for all is how do we go about doing this? We must foster a culture of Pakistani nationalism and the prerequisite for this is leadership which genuinely believes in Pakistan and is centred on the principle ideology of Iqbal and Jinnah. There is a need to form common culture. Secondly, we must work hard to strengthen Pakistan’s economy, so poor people are not misused. Thirdly, we must educate people and show them reality. Fourthly, we must show courage and resolve to speak and say the truth and give hard facts to people on how many innocent people Altaf and his bandits have murdered. Above all we must ensure parties are all inclusive and care for everyone and not centred on protecting ethnic vote banks, this task his huge however we must work hard to achieve this aim.

Given the volatile nature of this cold blooded crocodile Altaf Hussain, one can only assume that after the creation of the ‘Mohajir’ province, the aims of a move towards an Independent ‘Mohajir’ state in the form of ‘Jinnahpur’ may be made. This will be disaster for Pakistan, and therefore Mohajir nationalism must be tackled intellectually.

I would love some feedback on this draft from all parties members

Please note it is not a good idea to make a Mojajir province, it effects the federation, causes division at this stage. Now the real facts: Mojajir defination: Born in India and migrated to pakistan, or kids born in Pakistan from Indian born migrants to pakistan and another generation and so on so forth. But India has Punjab and misellaneous like Luckhnowee, Beharee, people from Bombay, from Hyderabad deccan and list of Rajputs who are also defined Mojajirs, as you know Mohjir from Bombay majority gugratee and Indian punjabees who migrated to Pakistan but they also consider them Mohajirs even though they speak punjabee, then tribal areas heavy duty migration to karachi as all minibuses, rickshaws run by pathans, they too are mohajirs as remember the FTAs were an independent entity as per Independence rules of India/Pak division. Hyderabad deccan due to heavy muslim majority was supposed to be part of pakistan, but read history India forcefull removed the Nizam the ruler and took over, common sense unfair approach as see where Hyderabad deccan is located in india in the map. If you visit Bombay there are lot of pathan, Sikhs, SINDHIS who are not muslims but before partition they were living in peshawar, lahore and Karachi, but due to democracy they miss their Pakistani cities but never got labeled mohajirs as obviously Mohajirs are not like punjabees or sindhis and pukhtoons as one entity.Karachi 75% population is Mojajirs with origins from all parts of ORIGNAL India in 1947. In 1947 India got the best, we got some mountains in North, baluchistan barren, sindh too excpet karachi some construction due to port city, awesome punjab with good land for agriculture.Basically zero infrastructure to begin with right. Now Mojagir left India , they were never forced to leave India, they had a choice as there still more muslims in India. They came for whatever reasons, but they brought the huge CAPITAL, hyderabd deccan Nizam biggest sole donation to Pakistan, many hyderabdees from deccan brought inherited gold, currency, EDUCATED, crime free individuals, from Indian punjab many educated people, army people, they donated type writers to chairs to cattle, etc etc. Majority moved to Karachi, uptill 1979, MAJORITY maybe still these so called Mojajirs from India, control major economic chunk of karachi. Were they discrininated, ABSOLUTELY, NO DOUBT about it HOW after they established courtts, governace town planners, evrtything big huge bunglows. Till 1972/begining of Bhutto era, sindhis were limited to hyderabad sindh, larkana, sindhi was forcefully enforced by bhutto in schools, why? bad decision, why in karachi? nobody need sindhi language, then introduce pakhtoon in NWFP , punjabee language and baloche language too in their provinces. The orignal pakistan in 1947 Literacy rate was 10%, by migration of the term Mohajirs from India, finances, town planning, Dam building, school teachers, dean of colleges, army you name it ministers, mohajirs with their capital and education contributed the entire pakistan. Now as every country needed a START, by 1960s all villages including the village of capital ISlamabad the new orignal inhabitants of pakistani land that was part of india till 1947, name changed definations changed. !976 Mr Altaf hussain came in the picture, WHY???, if a mohajir student applies for med school, dental school, police in interior sindh, they were discriminated by the sindhis haraased even though these same sindhis were educated by these mohajirs, army, airforce the first question they ask regardless how tough you look, asked where your dad or grand dad is from, in correct term INDIA for everybody, but the specific question meant indian side or pakistani land of the ex-indian side. No problem, major chunk of brillaint mohajirs from Bombay running the buisness show up till today producing capital for pakistan, 80% police force 1979 from punjab, some pathans, so why these people will care about karachites, why not police form karachi's inhibitants mohajirs or no mohajirs, if karcahi domicile automatic selection in karachii police. If altaf hussain intially not started this movement in good faith was supported in good faith, his party was not a violent party , it was just was asking rights, can punjab will tolerate entire police from peshawar or vice versa, thats unfair. But Shareef then using army start wiping the MQMs out assinating, when you do that instead of dialogue now you created a monster, who only knows how to deal with budmashee becaquse recieved budmashee, it is not justifiable, but any other choice left for them. After that the movemnet became a mafia. Still a chance, were all pakistanis and we aree MUSLIMS follow allahs code fo conduct, forgive, forget unite, pray together, love each other, NO DISCRMINATION as we all did to BENGALEES, and all these evils will wipe out automatically a gift to our future generation, but who wants to deal with that and leave a cmfy l;azy biryanee, niharee lustfull life, SO DEAL WITH IT UNTIL THEN as now they are breaking punjab, NWFP, baluchistan and so on, so time has ARRIVED to make a choice and become good kind humans muslims, be nice, stop huram stuff and think halal, thats all we all need. Start with your income, and right there in your own home and it will spread and world will respect as they did Mohd bian Qasim, Salahdin, Huzoor salwalsulum, inshallah, ameen.

I would love to give you feedback but given the history how you take feedback it will not be of much use.

I will keep quiet and enjoy your commentary about a subject that you only have tangential grasp of.

Just one advice - to understand this issue you have to broaden your horizons and look far and wide and analyze how things work in the whole of Pakistan and you will probably find the answers you are looking for.

You commentary seems very similar to that of the armchair PhDs, who are academically smart but detached from the situation on the ground, sitting in their cushy offices of a think tank and writing reams of papers advising muslims of the world how to tackle the problem of extremism within us - its full of sweeping statements and generalizations. Look how much credence or attention to their advice is being given by the muslims ;-)

My Advice to you is an brotherly manner, think at this issue from the Sindhi point of view, these people took care of you lot, when you came from India, these people opened their doors to you. Is this nice way for you people to pay them back? By breaking their province?

Signing the support petition...

...might be a good idea. But it is important to get Altaf Hussain to endorse the idea first. He has to stop cringing before the Sindhis...

My Advice to you is an brotherly manner, think at this issue from the Sindhi point of view, these people took care of you lot, when you came from India, these people opened their doors to you. Is this nice way for you people to pay them back? By breaking their province?

Statements like these from you just make me smile. Shows how little you know about the issue that you are pontificating about.

My friendly advice - and no offense intended - is that you have to try to understand what someone is saying before responding and if you don't then ask whoever you are communicating to elaborate on their arguments so that you understand it clearly.

You have no idea what my views are on this issues but you are assuming things wildly - as I said in my previous you can't use an argument to let your imagination run wild.

This is the reason I believe that its fruitless to engage you in a meaningful discussion - you leave the issue being discussed and veer off on to tangential topics.

I would advise you to google some of the shows of Shahzaib Khanzada that he did in interior of Sindh focused on Urdu speaking communities and Sindhi speaking communities (in fact thats not a very accurate way to say it since most "urdu speakers" there speak fluent sindhi) and try to understand the dynamics and how people are living side by side for decades. Have you ever heard of any sindhi/mohajir riots there?

Until you really have an insight into the underlying issues you can not become an expert on the issue sitting 5000 miles away without knowing the intricacies involved.

Hang on are you saying that when this Mohajir province is made that sindhis will fully accept this????????? This shows you no nothing at all.
