ISLAMABAD: A group of Pakistani parliamentarians has moved a resolution that says the settlement of the Kashmir issue should be "a pre-condition" for giving the most favoured nation (MFN) status to India.

The resolution, signed by 10 members of the National Assembly or lower house of parliament belonging to the PML-Q and PML-N and an independent lawmaker, was on Saturday submitted to the parliament secretariat by PML-Q lawmaker Marvi Memon, a known critic of India.

"This House resolves that MFN status to India should be a pre-condition for resolution of Kashmir dispute. Any effort to grant MFN to India prior to resolution of Kashmir will be considered as a lethal blow to Kashmir cause," the resolution states.

In the clearest indication yet that it is moving towards granting MFN status to India, Pakistan agreed in recent talks between commerce secretaries of the two countries that it would take "immediate necessary steps to ensure that non-discriminatory trade regime is operationalized at the earliest." Pakistan also recognized that the grant of MFN status to India will help in expanding bilateral trade, according to a joint statement issued after the talks.

There is no point in granting this status if the spirit isn't there. Unless they open the road link to India and allow free flow of goods from Pakistan to India only than we can call it MFN. Only then people will see the benefit of trade.

there is a saying "KANGALI ME AATA GEELA"
same thing is with pakistan, country is moving towards disaster. The leaders & parliamentarians who suppose to lead, show the right path and take country forward, have learnt nothing from mistakes and past.
india has no interest in MFN and discussing kashmir with pakistan.it is all diplomatic tactics to show to the world community.

It is very hypocrite when pakistan chants about kashmir....A state who live on luxury imported with the money earn from drons....
(a state that give 100% arms and ammunition supply route to NATO,who inturn kill their citizens and fellow muslims with that supplies...)

My free suggestion to pakistan.......Please give that MFN status to Afghanistan...that may help them.
