...saw first 30 mins of 1st episode. Not bad...

It's just refreshing to see a show with a Muslim as the main character, and not portrayed as a terrorist or victim, or fundo nutjobs.
And this is only because Sana Amanat at Marvel had a big say in creating the character. Kudos to Marvel for pushing diversity as well.

PS Admins - not sure how I post in Non-Siasi section...please move.

The theme of terrorism and islamophobia is dead and cliched, after peddling it for 20 years. It's done and dusted atfer enough expected damage to muslims. Objectives are achieved. Now the stage is set for next level.

All new Netflix, Amazon, Apple shows are themed around LGBT, Atheism/Agnosticism, end of the world, zombies, new world order, end of family values, super heroes coming to save humanity, AI, and transcendence of humans beyond humanity. Disney is officially moving towards more than 50% of LGBT representation in their content.

Understand the theme. This is a subtle attack on your values. Before big daddy comes, humanity must shed away its traditional values, and transform enough to embrace their superhero's arrival.

Which is why, the Ms.Marvel series is portraying Pakistani parents as stupid, caught in old fashioned and outdated cultural and religious values which their children find difficult to accept and adapt to, and find more comfortable to reject and become more westernised in order to be more liberal and transformative.

This is what they're showing you and this is what is happening on ground:

Thanks to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan's Recognition of Israel Is Now Inevitable

1) Have you seen the show yet?

Slight *spoiler*

2) In the first episode, the parents were not shown as stupid, nor did I get the message that the main character was rejecting cultural and religious values of her parents. In fact, there was a scene where the main character felt bad about making her parents sad.

Lets see how the show pans out, but I don't it'll be as bad as you think.

Also, it's fiction...I understand your concern about LGTB and influence in media, but unfortunately it's a reality. If we don't want to let it influence our kids, then we need alternative media - which unfortunately we are not producing. I mean I'm never going to get my kids to watch any Pak TV serial dramas.

What I'm saying is, this particular show may not be as bad as you think, because it is created by Muslims.

I saw it 2 days ago. Created by muslims does not mean it's automatically halal and holy. In one world order, there is not differentiation between muslims n non muslims. All are treated the same because the game is bigger than that!
Anyway. it's interesting at least. But i can see thru the themes projected here. For some it's refreshing. For some it's more than that.

Fair enough. To me it's more refreshing I guess. Agree tht created by muslims does not automatically mean it's halal, but it'll be much better then if it was created by non-muslims. I'll give an example...my son reads comics, and he saw this comic "Rivers of London" which showed a Muslim lady in hijab drinking wine on the first page. Of course he didn't buy it, because even he thought that was wrong and illogical.

Anyway, I would rather my kids watch this then some of the obvious anti-muslim stuff.

Saying that, they are also in their late teens, and less influenced then younger kids may be...

I haven't seen the show, nor i know about this ms.marvel. but i don know one thing, one way or other, this super muslim hero is going to come out as LGBTQ+ and a performing moderate Muslim who is more Muslim then anyone else being a LGBTQ+ type thing.
BTW, saw trailer and it sucked due to INDIAN accent and wrong portrayal of Pakistanis.
