Pakistan military is involved in commercial activities. From wedding halls, to shops to commercial plazas to industries , factories etc. Recently a famous retaurant Monal restaurant in Islamabad started paying rent to Army rather than Islamabad administration.
THE BIG QUESTION IS. IF military becomes financially independant then it will not remain under civilian government. It will make independant policies and concept of state within a state will emerge.
If MONAL restaurant location is security wise important then why instead of demolishing it Army has just started taking its rent. Why does the Army need a land on margalla mountains if the only thing they want to do is start commercial activity.

Simple. The one who owns property is eligible to collect revenue as well. But they must pay tax if used as commercial.
