General concept is that IsKindar Mirza was traitor so forced out of country by Ayub Khan.
But Ayub Khan son in law Capt Aurangzeb (son of Wali Swat says he was an honest man.

Iskandar Mirza was the one who started the trend of martial laws in Pakistan. He started the first martial law in Pakistan's history which ended with separation of East Pakistan.

Right about IM. It was the failure of coalition government: ( constant shifting of loyalties and self interests and change of 3 successive PM) of three groups (leftist +Islamists + democrats under IM) that led to these unfortunate events, though one may guess he could have handled the situation differently -- but to call him a traitor is wrong and playing politics without knowing the events.

I don't think he was a traitor or dishonest, he was just incompetent. Regardless he should have been treated better because he was a former head of state of Pakistan.

He didn't engage in corruption so he had no money to take care of himself in old age. This might be an incentives for future politicians to engage in corruption.

That's what I wished to emphasized that he acted in good intent but misjudged the consequences and what it were to lead to, logically - a full matial law.
However, the Republican Party was more democrat among others (other two groups (left and islamist) actually believed in violent revolution and elections were just a way to reach there + chronic issues like western feudal and unsolvable personal conflicts in E Bengal).
Those in the middle, democrats and western educated had joined the republican party (which now has been made into cuss word like king's party.
Personally I don't like Mirza at all, but he was the man of his times and his mistakes can be understood in the unique circumstances after partition, -deep political and regional conflicts + --existential issues + -- a nominally strong but resource-less and untrained bureaucracy that were to carry the burden of running/defending new nation.
