With due respect, the length is not necessary. Direction is more than enough to tell us where a govt is headed. Israel has had more than. 36 govts in it's 70 odd years of existence. This is a common excuse used by civilian govts to escape their failures
I do not think Israel ever had any Military govt at all, at-least not in modern age, and government changes in Israel were always the result of "We the People" or their direct representatives which acts as a parliamentary buffer in normal societies to clean and sanitize the political system on as needed basis.
Whereas in Pakistan, the Viceroy of British Army illegitimately took control of the Govt in 1958 and to this day are busy in searching for compromised political personalities to directly or in directly control the helm of Govt.
Evolution takes time and so does systematic change. We never allowed the system to run its course. Its "We the People" who has the ultimate authority to make and break Govt. Unfortunately, a robust and solid political system is considered a threat to few often less then 10 who consider themselves as the true representative of the people which they are not.
Recently, Zardari govt was allowed 5 years though was forced to prematurely change its Prime Minister half way. Still, poor govt performance of 5 years led to almost collapse of PPP as "We the People" did not agree with their performance. That my friend is the beauty of a political system which is prevalent in Israel.
