How can we make this forum better? Your suggestions & input?

میرے خیال میں پوائنٹ سسٹم متعارف کرانا چاہے. ابتدائی طور پر ہر ممبر کو پچاس پوائنٹس دے دیے جائیں. تھریڈ بنانے پر پانچ پوائنٹ کم کر دیے جائیں ( تھریڈ برائے تھریڈ بنانے کی روش کم ہو گی). اسی طرح کمنٹس کرنے پر دو پوائنٹ کم کئے جائیں (خام خواہ) کی منہ ماری کم ہو گی. کمنٹ کو لائیک یا تھینک یو ملنے پر جس کا تھریڈ/کمنٹ ہو اسے ایک پوائنٹ دیا جائے، ڈس لائیک کرنے والے کے دو پوائنٹ کم کئے جائیں جس کا کمنٹ ہو اس کا ایک پوائنٹ کم کیا جائے (عادتا ڈس لائیک کرنے کی حوصلہ شکنی ہو گی). رپورٹ کرنے پر اگر موڈریٹر ایکشن لیتا ہے جس کا کمنٹ ہو اس کے پانچ پوائنٹ کم کئے جائیں، جو رپوٹ کرے ایسے تین پوائنٹ دئیے جائیں (بد زبانی کم ہو گی). انشااللہ​

I would like to make two requests.
It is really frustrating to watch a video through 'dailymotion' as I always have to watch 30sec advert at he beginning and at the end which is awful. Most of the time x button doesn't appear to get rid of that advert. Sometime I prefer not to watch a video as I know I have to tolerate that forceful advert. Is there any thing that you can do? I would appreciate it.

Secondly, would it be possible to add gender option under avatar because of weird ids it is hard to know that are we communicating with a Male or Female. I get frustrated when someone mistaken me as a Male. Just yesterday I discovered a member whom I've been thinking a man for the last 7 months was actually a lady. I would suggest please make the option of gender for all the members compulsory under their avatar. It could be just Gender: M or F

Yes, we'll be adding that. We didn't see any point adding that since there are hardly any female posters but now we have a few I guess.

Personally and in principle, I am not in favour of any kind of ban/restriction on topics and freedom of expression within the limits of decency.

Abusing, trolling and personal attacks are functions of a member's socio-cultural upbringing/family background, intellectual level and purpose of being on this forum (interest in genuine learning/debate or propaganda). So, looking at these factors and majority of the members intellectual level who actively participate, some amount of misuse of this forum is unavoidable.

Similar is the case of allowing sectarian debate, harmful effects of which far outweigh benefits of genuine debate on such topics.

Another point I forgot to add is that your response writing/editing window/option is quite unstable (in terms of font, size, color, retrieval of saved content, urdu content following english norms, urdu editing within this window, etc.). Please look into this as well.

Moderation suggestions:

1) Absolutely ZERO tolerance for sectarianism. Your callous attitude has already driven away some of the most wonderful members of the forum. Whoever posts sectarian material, taunts someone for his sect must be banned forthwith. Many vultures roam freely on the forum ready to pounce on anything to satisfy their hidden agendas.

2) Absolutely ZERO tolerance for anything hurtful towards any religion. If a member of any religion posts something derogatory, kick him out. Do not encourage tit for tat responses.

3) Absolutely ZERO tolerance for the copy-paste brigade. They simply destroy every thread they tread on. Kachra posts from FB pages may be fine once in a while, since they provide comic relief at times. But nobody should be allowed to spam a thread with them. May be we PTI supporters do it as well, but we are no match for Maryam Safdar and Dr. Qadri brigade.

Site Suggestions:

Take the next step. This website has been an internet chat forum for far too long. Run it like a pure business entity while keeping the originality (think Whatsapp). Successful businesses always keep evolving. Arrange more interviews, some field reporting (why not provide the world with an account of what happened in Thar), be a little bold conduct sting operations (think Tehelka.com), launch an internet magazine, make small videos of weekly political roundup etc. There are many things. It just requires hard work.

Sadly, the forum used to be better when I joined it two years ago.

I see tons of anti PTI threads daily.

It doesn't matter what the news is about, as long It is from a reliable source, we will never delete it unless it is a repost then it'll be merged.

The fact is that PTI supporters online are in big numbers. You go to any facebook you will see the same trend, give it a try. Just go siasat.pk fb page. There are almost 1.3 million fans and who are the most active? You judge it for yourself

The site actually benefits If there is an anti PTI thread because all the people who don't bother posting, start posting.

This forum is run by people. If we force them, they will simply leave and we won't be where we are today. Agree?

1. Have a separate section for serious discussion in order to avoid childish posts especially until Mods are properly and uniformly trained. Objective is to encourage serious discussion.

2. Improve search and remove unnecessary things from top of the siasat page.

3. I have noticed that lately people have started posting titles with their own angle on videos despite the videos or news items have no link whatsoever. It is like baseless allegation on someone. This should be stopped.

I believe in free speech similar to that is practiced in in west, but when it comes to Desi's, they go all out against Pakistan, Criticism is great to improve things, but when national security issues pop up, those Pakistani sentiments should be deleted plain and simple.

Pakistan is going through a very sensitive stage, being a nuclear power, it is being dragged into a civil war, destruction, extremist mode deliberately so that like former soviet union states did, plan to label it an insecure country and then forcefully or diplomatically neutralize its nuclear assets.

I don't support nuclear proliferation but having that option works as a deter ant.

Please i request you to unless some authentic scandal of Pak army ( khudanakhuwasta), openly antiarmy comments by bunch of immature kids, Talibans, Indians etc should be deleted for one reason, FOR Pakistan, as all threat's and Calamities handled responsibly by Pak army, so please scrutinize anti army comments. AdditionallyI like Pak1stani suggestions too: ie: 1. Make a list of offences with points for each violation just like traffic violation. Ban the member after reaching certain limit and lower the limit if the member is banned previously. I think something similar is already there but make it public.

2. Make violation/abuses, the abusive posts and previous bans of the members visible to everyone. It will work as restraint.
