thats what i wrote earlier that you completely missed the point i was trying to make.
and, as far as saudis and you are concerned you are the one who engaged me and it was not the other way around but most old timers on this forum know that as soon as saudis and saudia is discussed then without fail you and mirza sahib appear out of nowhere to defend them.
also, i would love for you to speak your mind even if its about me. I am not a saudi king or prince who couldn't take a little criticism and wouldn't know a thing about respecting difference of opinion. I wouldn't ask for you to be put in jail or whipped for speaking your mind.:)
I am questioning the stupid law.
I know Zaid from way back from our college days and of course he has become a certified idiot but he is certainly not that dumb to go to Saudi Arabia
and start to publicly challenge the saudi state. What I said was that beside the point that there are very details available I fundamentally disagree with
the stupid Saudi law as I would disagree with a stupid law in Pakistan or Iran or Saudi Arabia or America or anywhere in the world.
On these lines I was making the point that I made in my post in response to Muqadas' post which you obviously didn't understand at all.
Civil rights movement in America would not have succeeded and blacks would not have won their rights if they had not challenged the stupid law of the land.
Nelson Mandela and the blacks would not have got rid of the apartheid regime if they had submitted to the law of the government of South Africa.
Laws are man made and in most cases - specially the exploitative forces and groups install these laws and rules to suppress dissent.
The saudi law is one such law and exists because the kings want to continue their illegitimate rule and wouldn't want any dissenting voices.
To criticize that law is perfectly fine in my books. I would not ask people to go flaunt that law as you 'wrongly' suggested that I would encourage people to do.
I am trying to explain myself which I hate to do because I have a feeling that you probably still miss the point that I am trying to make given that you didn't see the point I was making with referencing laws of the Saudis or the Apartheid South Africa or Colonial British rulers or the Israelis.
