Siasat.pk + Chrome Memory issue

Is it me or Siasat.pk consumes shit load of memory if I leave it open in Chrome. I had like some 5 tabs open in Chrome and each tab was consuming more than 1.2 GB. My 16 GB RAM was almost full. When I killed those tabs My Almost 8 GB of RAM got freed.

I tried running the same experiment again, and found out that if you leave the tab of Siasat.pk open, Google Chrome starts hogging memory. The more you let it opened the more memory it consumes. It seems that there is some kind of memory leakage in the site that is not handled properly.

To double check you can open Google Chrome/Chromium Browser developer tool by pressing F12, click the Memory and start looking at the memory creeping up continuously of siasat.pk.

This is very serious issue if this is true. Adeel need to fix it. How many PCs you guys might have slowed down :@

Install Adblocker to stop it from loading the 1001 ads on every page. I don't have it on my phone and my phone pretty much hangs if I try to use siasat.pk

And yes its a pretty heavy site, with all those thumbnails and a shit load crammed on every page.

I dont think it is just the ads. Somewhere in the site memory is not handled properly. It is creeping up, even it goes upto 2GB per tab of siasat.pk

okay I installed the ad blocker and fixed this issue.

I think in the background there is some kind of video ad being used which Adeel hid for money or something ?

Ads have always been the issue on this site and never were handled well. I would love for the owner to make money from this site and keep us providing this wonderful platform. There have been times in the past where pages kept reloading after every few seconds and once even with adblocker it went crazy.

It was showing 4-5 thousand ads being blocked per page finally had to complain to admin about it to fix it

I have even cheaper system than yours but memory usage is 10to20 mbs only.

Because you may have adblocker.

Try opening without Ad blocker. It will start adding up continuously

This is not fair. I was about to get another 16 GB to solve my memory issue, when I dig deeper I found it siasat.pk was culprit.
I am not against Admin earning money from it. But not at the expense of memory of the PC of siasat.pk users.

Well, i run my own website and there's no issue with ads. So either they're using too much or scummy ad networks. Google ads are fine.

By the way, chrome is known for eating a lot of ram generally. I personally use Vivaldi but Firefox is also good although a little slow.

16gb ram is a lot, i have 24gb and i can't even use half of it (around 8 usually when gaming). So you're fine :)

Oh and if you're using antivirus, they're known to eat at memory/resources.

It is ubuntu, so it doesnt have any virus. I am a developer. 16 GB ram is not much. It is a normal memory size. Android studio alone can consume 7-8 GB with all the emulators and stuff. Also if you need to work with virtual machines, you see PC starts struggling alot.

My office Machine was having serious RAM issue despite I was not using much apps. It was also 16GB.

But Now I know who is the culprit. I will not name em ????

Chrome has always been a memory hog. Especially in today's world with sites constantly sending http requests in the bg and cross server scripts to 101 sites.
