I have studied the Argentine/Russia/Thai problem. I understand how Malaysia safeguarded itself against the crisis. I have studied the 1930s great depression along with the Wiemar's hyperinflation and the role of Reichsbank. I feel comfortable with the historical prespective.

Lets assume for 1 second that Gold replaces paper/electronic currency tomorrow. Mujhe eak baat samjha do. You understand Money velocity right? How will you fix economic slowdown due to gold hoarding?

About Fiscal policy, you CANNOT have a political solution to an ECONOMIC problem.

Yaar I can write a book on how gold can replace the paper,

Please research Argentina's inflation problem.

I'll explain this to you in detail on the weekend, may be i'll write a blog.

Please keep in mind one thing, which you haven't covered in your article, that fiscal policy is also a political policy, not just economic!

I know the least about religious affairs. Mujhe eak baat batao. Remember how the Quran speaks of chopping a man's hand when theft is committed? And do u remember how (Was it Umer RA?) who suspending the cutting of hands during famine...
I mean haath kaatne ka to bara straight forward kaha gaya hai.. Lekin Umer RA ko ayse hi to "sahee faisla karne wala" nahi kaha jata na.. You see what I am saying?

Jab insaan cheezoun ki baaareekiyoun mein jata hai to baat sirf sahi aur galat ki nahi rehti. Bat phir HAQ aur HIQEEQAT k beech ki lakeer ki hoti hai.

But brother we must remember that any issue on which clear cut guidance from Quran & Sunnah pbuh is available....is closed for debate.

Hoarding is terribly easy to solve.

Zakat is the tax that accounts for a payment every time there is excessive storage.

(We have the scale for the amount of Zakat, and our people are naturally comfortable with this tax.)

Zakat drives the hoarders to invest and do productive business, and if not, the state can always provide sufficient interest free loans to suitable entrepreneurs.

This method is flawless and always keeps the wealth circulating.

Note: Fiscal policy is the policy of economics and political science. (I learned that in undergraduate school, and you should have known this by now.)

Insha Allah I will write a good blog soon and clear the basics for people.

Bhai aap jo baat kar rahay ho Hazrat Omar raziallah talah unaha ki us wakt kehet tha ,is liye saza wakti toor pe khatam kar di thi likin jab qehet khatam hoa tu phir dobara saza nafiz kar di thi.Aur jab Hazrat Mohammad pbuh k zamaney main aik aurat chori ki saza main pakri gai thi jis ka naam fatma tha , us ki sefarish aik barey sardar ney ki tu Hazrat Mohammad pbuh ney farmaya jis ka mafhoom hai, agar is k bajai meri beti Hazrat Fatma raziallah talah unaho bhi hoti tu bhi saza hoti.

I understand the role of Zakat. Lekin the fact is, Gold by nature is very concealing. You can hide 5kg of gold. I dont think any Govt in the world is as efficient as the US Govt in collecting taxes. But our desi brothers are best at the worst - "gaming the system". So HOW can Govt keep track of who has retained gold idle for 1 year Aur phir accounting challenges.. LIFO.. FIFO.. U know better than this

All I am saying is, there is a difference b/w HAQ and HAQEEQAT. Zakat is HAQ. HAQEEQAT is that people cheat.

If you have studied the Gold Standard and International trade b/w 1850~1970, we saw how the French and the American Financial system hoarded Gold, killing International commerce. Same thing during the times of Romans - Greeks bought goods from India and paid in GOLD. Indians used that Gold in their jewelry pulling Gold out of International trade circulation cause the trade to stop.

The western financial system came up with Inflation to do the job of Zakat.

Yes I have put up with Academic economics and Poli Sci. I am done with that. Academia was wrong then. And its wrong today. Remember the "EMH", that markets are efficient? Remember supply and demand dictates prices? Whatever happened to leverage? whatever happened to momentum? whatever happened to expections? They all play a role in pricing.

So I will repeat. No political solution can fix an economic problem of fiscal deficit.

I never listed Ghamdi in detail
actually I don't need to listen him or ask him any thing

if u have any lectures of Shaikh Vadilla on financial issues, plz share the links

about ulema of today, ya agree with u majority of them today lost the grip on subject of economics
they should learn this, its also their duty

@wadaich @barhaich @jahanzaibi @ambroxo

Guys, I have listened to Ghamidi. There is no doubt that he is a great intellect. He does understand the depth of issues. He does. Lekin what has made me uncomfortable is his stand on religious affairs. Like you dont need a Mehrum for Haj. Its a social issue and I have no opinion on this. Lekin I having a Mehrum for hajj keeps a social structure intact for Islamic culture. Just like Zakat on GOLD/SILVER paid in GOLD and SILVER. Almost all Ulema have drifted away from this key financial aspect of Zakat. Dekho kiya huwa ab. Ulema tried to be modern and lost their identity. Now they arent even capable of understanding that Ulema have completely lost it on Financial matters. Heck, they have even legalized banking... Listen to Sheikh Vadilla. He almost gets it..

Lekin mein kahoun.. suno sab ki... Kero wo jis baat par dil thukta hai. Dekho, an Aalim can be right on many things but he could be wrong on a few. That doesnt mean we should discard everything that he says. About Ghamidi, hisab ulta hai.. he doesnt sound right on alot of things, lekin ho sakta hai in ki kuch baatein theek houn.. Listen, understand and then make up your mind. "Name-calling" is just a noise. It serves no purpose.

My friend, you have the answer in your question. (Please read slow!)

Collection of Zakaat in an acceptable manner is the aspired sociopolitical solution to the problem.

Allow me to say that Zakaat is only two and a half percent per year on stocked up gold and silver. It is definitely recoverable if we mint coins in an organised manner and set laws that suit the demand of the time (like baynami); on top of that, this(gold and silver) will make for a smaller portion of the entire Zakaat revenue and even then it can be collected more easily than income tax (because we just need to check with the richer class and not the entire population).

A larger portion of Zakaat will come from the land/agricultural tax and I'm sure we(you) know how to tackle the problem of excessive storage of wheat.

If we can cut off the baseless over taxation of the poor, get rid off interest and paper money, and install fairness (through accountability) in the economic arena; the we can certainly achieve what is known as the 'free market'.

And if there is a free-market then mankind will definitely be prosperous. It'll be a irresistible system based on pure merit and effort.

Whichever way we incline there is some inclination to it. (Glorious Quran)

A system has to be for HUMANS, not just Muslims.

Taxing the rich... You tax something you dont want. You dont wanna REDUCE the rich! You wanna tax EQUALLY. Warna it creates twisted political alliances. Look at the US now. Here's a table
http://taxfoundation.org/article/summary-latest-federal-individual-income-tax-data-0#table1

When HALF of the population pays only 2.3% of the total tax share, the govt goes broke. and It gives an incentive for people to NOT to work. Yahi ho raha hai US mein while welfare services are making States go broke... So those "poor" people pay the least, cost the most because they arent incentivized to worked.

America overtaxes and that's why people involve in dirty tax reduction schemes.

A free-market treats all people equally. If a non-Muslim is a better businessman he gets to be on the top of the game.

There is no concept of religion in any business market of Karachi.

If you are a good earner, you make money, but you can't stay rich for 500 years because there is no interest.

It's a free market.
