what happened dude?......kya pi liya subah subah, itne senti kaise ho gaye? (bigsmile)

Well Brexit has taught us all a lesson, hasn't it? I have learnt that the purpose is not to shout or abuse the opponents, but rather stick together with the others as one-nation, no matter how devastating, damaging, silly the other side's opinions are, because once the 'standing-together' is gone, then there's nothing stopping the country coming apart.

Brits voted crazily in the referendum, and no doubt there have been some racist attacks here and there in the country, but the vast majority of both sides have decided to step back from the fever of "leave vs. remain" and tussling over it, and decided to work with each other now, because without that, the existence of UK starts becoming a question.

Look at how Borris stepped down from the candidacy of PM. That's British-sense working. They did one stupid thing (in referendum), but now everyone's working on damage control.

And in spirit of that, I thought I apologise to @Raaz. (Long shot, but every drop counts, right?)

I would vote for a presidential system if there was a referendum tomorrow. This would end the politics of electables in Pakistan.

Gove has never been serious about party leadership and being PM. And he had no chance. Everyone knows that.

My guess is that for 'National interest' the Crown stepped in, to sort out this nonsense created by "Leave". They maybe asked Borris to quit, and when the Crown asks you something like that, you comply. And then to pacify 'Leavers' and Borris-Backers (see what I did there? Borris-Backers, Borris Backer, Borris Becker...) they made it look 'real' by bringing in Gove as the 'real' reason for Borris to quit.

An ambitious buffoon like Borris would not have backed out of it, even with the slight risk of some votes slipping because of Gove (who was supporting Borris and Leave, like anything). That's why I really think that Borris was convinced by the Crown (UK Establishment) to step down.

And today was the start of steps in the right direction. English, Scotts, Welsh individually weren't at risk, if the nonsense of Leave was allowed to continue, but the Union was at risk and the Crown had most to lose. Scotts have the North Sea oil for 30 years, Welsh can get by, umm... by begging and such, and English could survive on JK Rowling's royalties from Harry Potter books & movies and sales from Beatles and Adele songs, but for the Crown, the Union really was at stake and without that all hell breaks loose.

I maybe wrong, but that's my feeling.

Your argument is that all this drama is for protecting the union. Replacing Boris with Gove does not make any sense as both are staunch brexit supporters and campaigned shoulder to shoulder. Infact Gove is more keen on immigration control, you agree or not this referendum was mainly fought on immigration issue.
Your theory will make some sense if as per your crown's calculations setting aside Mr. Johnson will make way for Theresa May to be the PM as she is in the remain campaign, although a reluctant remainer. She had very slim chance against the Trump look alike. And one more thing she is also in favour of the bringing down the immigration level. Take back control. :D
Btw what happened to Preeti, why she decided against jumping into the fray?

Look at you keeping tabs on UK politics with all your research and analysis... :P

It's not Priti's time, yet. A but young, not a big enough office under her belt, but to be honest, she's in the top three of the people considered ideal candidates for the first UK PM from a minority community, if the UK people decide to go the non-white option in another 10 - 15 years...

I've spoke with quite a lot of people on the Tory leader... and everyone's got a theory. UK parliamentary politics are very, very murky.
