Honestly, this is a dumb comparison.
There's certain areas and fields where a 17 grade officer gets more than a 17 grade Army Officer.
All 17 grade officers in Atomic Energy Commission, Nescom, National Development Complex, and Suparco get salaried according to "Special Pay Scale" which is much more than "Basic Pay Scale + 50 %" of the Army Officers.
And who told them to become doctors or lecturers? If they want more "Salary", they should join Army...huh

Doctors and lecturers make nation, generate income. Army consumes that income. Most of our budget is robbed by the fat bellied military generals.

US has different socio-economic situation.
Compare US with Denmark. Danes don't join Army even if it's on average a better paid job.

Admit that you have nothing to prove your point. We are a poor nation, we can't afford such an 'expensive' army. Those who want to serve Pakistan and protect the motherland should do it at minimal cost. Salaries of army should be equal to those of the police or teachers.
