Pakistani govts corruption reaches at Rs223bn: Transparency International

According to a recent survey of Transparency International Pakistan, 70 percent Pakistanis consider the past Federal government to be cleaner than present government. Present government’s corruption has reached at Rs 223 billion.
According to survey, if we look at the results from provinces from a standalone point of view, Punjab is the only province where present provincial government is cleaner than previous provincial government. Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa is the most corrupt province this year.
In a press conference in Karachi, Chairman Transparency International Pakistan Syed Adil Gilani told that National Corruption Perception Survey 2010 has revealed that police remains the most corrupt sector, Power was seen as 2nd most corrupt and Land administration has moved up from being 4th corrupt since the last two surveys to being third.
He said that corruption in judiciary has been increased while corruption in motorway police is at the lowest in all over the world. Adil Gilani said that inflation will increase manifold if rental power plants are installed in the country.

I am happy with the fact that there is less corruption in Punjab compared to with Federation and other provinces. But let me differ with you over the fact that this has got nothing to do with PML-N's performance or transparency but it is because PPP thinks PML-N is an only rival that can give them tough time in an election and thats why they have put Salman Taseer as a governor in Punjab who keeps poking and stirring the pot. That is the main reason that these two thieves, PPP and PML-N can't have their way freely in Punjab and that puts them in place. Otherwise, compare today's punjab with what it has been in PML-N's previous era or even before that ... and I am sure you will find that even today it sucks.

I have serious reservations about the transparency of Tranceparency International. No denying that corruption has increased but how is this linked to courts and why woul you be congratulating any one on this? do you think that someone could be happy over the issue? very sad!

Stopping corruption is not the job of CJ of SC of Pakistan. It is the job of those running Govt. of Pakistan. The people running Govt. of Pakistan are responsible for failing to curb corruption.

Give the courts more time. The other option is bloody revolution.

Although the whole system of judiciary based on Western judicial system is flawed which has been inherited by Pakistan. The lower judiciary where common man goes is very corrupt in Pakistan and that is why thana Kachahri are the biggest problems in Pakistan. Having said that the judges of lower courts are not ''bhatta collectors'' on behalf of Chief Justice and Chief Justice is not the Mafia boss who heads the mafia. Whatever the lower judiciary judges or any judge takes as corruption he or she keep by himself. All the chief justice can do is to tell the judges to provide justice honestly or take action against any complaint. This is not a political party/mafia. The chief justice will retire and go home unlike the mafia community. Again the whole judicial system is flawed and the solution is a new system of justice based on Islamic history and practice of justice in Muslim empires.

اگر کورٹز میں کرپشن ختم کرنا چیف جسٹس کا کام نہیں تو یہ بتلائیے کہ پھر چیف جسٹس جوکروں کی طرح پر اچھل اچھل کر قسمیں کیوں کھایا کرتا تھا کہ وہ عدالتوں میں کرپشن کو ختم کر دے گا؟ اور اس جوکروں کی طرح اچھلنے میں چیف جسٹس اکیلا نہیں تھا بلکہ بہت سے دوسری سیاسی جوکر بھی اسکے ساتھ شامل ہوتے تھے۔

ISLAMABAD, April 18: Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry has declared 2009 as the ‘year of justice’ and vowed to eradicate corruption from courts and ensure quick dispensation of justice.Presiding over a meeting of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee here on Saturday, he said that after restoration of the judiciary to the pre-emergency position, justice should be extended to the masses.
The two-day meeting was convened by the chief justice to come up with a strategy for quick disposal of cases and dispensation of justice to the litigants by eliminating corruption from the judiciary.

کیا چیف جسٹس صاحب کی قسم ایسی ہوتی ہے کہ جس کے بعد کرپشن کا خاتمہ ہونے کی بجائے وہ بڑھ جائے؟ اس سے تو ہم بغیر قسم بلکہ بغیر ایسے چیف جسٹس کے ہی بہتر۔

میرا سوال پھر یہی ہے کہ:۔

۔1۔ آج تک چیف جسٹس نے کتنے ججوں کو کرپشن کے تحت گرفتار کروا کر نکلوایا ہے؟

۔2۔ آج تک کتنے وکیلوں کو کرپشن کے الزام میں پکڑا گیا ہے۔


دیکھتے ہیں چیف جسٹس کے ان حمایتیوں (بشمول عمران خان اور نواز شریف اور میڈیا) میں کتنا دم ہے کہ یہ ان آسان سوالوں کے جواب دے سکیں۔
