Urdu was never the language of this region we know today as Pakistan. Urdu a mish mash of everything has has been forced upon us, a highly nontechnical language because of which all our students specially those in the science fields are suffering.

Agreed. But after 70+ years at least Urdu is spoken and understood by every single Pakistani even the ones who are uneducated living in far flung areas.
My point is that mother-language is the best language to learn anything.

You are mistaken there, there are still many Pakistanis who don't speak or understand Urdu.
Yes true, other than the minority Urdu speaking migrant population, Urdu is no ones mother tongue in Pakistan and in even the so called Urdu Speaking population Urdu is still not their actual mother tongue because they came from varied placed in India from Bihar to Kerala to Goa none of who speak Urdu or Hindi as their mother tongue. Most of the people who hailed from Urdu speaking places mostly stayed back in India example Hyderabad and Lucknow.
And small trip to Karachi and speaking with the general public will make you realize how well the "native" Urdu speakers speak the language.

If Pakistanis want to get somewhere,they need to make English national and official language both otherwise they would just sound dumb and duffers wherever they go. Now please do not come up with your point of colonial language and slavery stuff. Even British empire is moved on from that mind set towards subcontinent.
As a nation we need to see what would benefit us in the long run. By the way URDU is forced on all the Pakistanis by our dumb leaders in the past who had no vision for the future. It is a very limited language and has very inadequate materiel for modern education system. Urdu is nor punjabiz nor pathans,nor sindhis aur nor balcoh;s mother tongue,but as i said it before our stupid leaders in the past had made it our national language for some strange reasons.
Those who sing the music of URDU, first they need to change all the books of medical science,IT,engineering and law in Urdu and get rid of Englsih completely from the education system. At present it is like NA TEETHAT NA BATAIR. The funny thing is that non of our top national leaders present or from the past had complete control over urdu,M Jinnah,Zulfiqar Bhuttu.BB and even now Imran khan,By the way Mr Jinnah could not speak Urdu at all forget about the control.
