George Orwell ( 1903-1950) is best known for his master piece ''1984'' and aslo greatly applauded for ''Animal Farm''.
1984 was written in 1949 and Orwell describes how the world would be in 1984. It is somewhat lengthy piece of political fiction and perhaps very few people would have the guts to keep reading it, especially from the computer screen. But it would surprise you for sure as how a person was able to foresee the future world, give such accurate predictions in 1949. Simply amazing.
Animal Farm is very short story and can be finished within an hour. Again, it is an amazing insight into the human psychology using animals as models. A must read.
