LAHORE: Former president Asif Ali Zardari has lent support to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and decided to support his incumbent government in and outside the parliament as prevailing political stalemate has yet to be resolved.
In a one-on-one meeting with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Zardari supported the governments decision to form a judicial commission that will be tasked to probe vote fraud.
Both the leaders criticized script writer of the sit-ins being staged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek in the federal capital and agreed to foil all the conspiracies being hatched against the government.
Zardari also advised the prime minister to stop his ministers from issuing rough statements against the opponents.
On Friday, PM Sharif extended luncheon invitation to Zardari, the Co-Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which the later accepted.
Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister and leader of PML-N Rana Mashhood said that the party leaders who are representing federation attended the meeting, adding that Shahbaz Sharif was not present in the meeting as he is a chief minister of Punjab.
Zardari would later meet Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Sirajul Haq, at JI headquarters in Mansoora. SAMAA
