Muslims as a Nation started their downward spiral during the 13th century AD with the Siege of Baghdad in 1258. The decline was inevitable as they were fully occupied in sorting out religious matters and were not paying attention to the environment of change.
The rise of Imamate and Mullaism thwarted any innovative thoughts. Belief in the concepts of Destiny (Taqdeer) and Salafiat (Taqleed) further damaged the efforts towards any technological advancement. The blanket of the Five Pillars put them in a deeper slumber and stopped any possible movement towards Scientific research and modernization.
The Western nations kept moving forward and came out of darkness during the Industrial Revolution of the 18th century. Muslims took the hashish of Sufism and Mullaism and back to sleep they went. This is still going strong, in the Sub-Continent.
While Allah has given humans enough authority to manage their own destiny; the belief that everything comes from Allah’s direct intervention, and that worship is a cure for all ailments, has done considerable damage to the scientific advancement of the Muslim Ummah.
The law of nature never fails, the world kept moving forward with technological advancement, leaving the Muslims in its wake. The law of nature favors the fittest and finally the weak get eaten up by the strong. This has been going on through the 21st century
However, we do see a glimmer of hope. Our Muslim youth are waking up and recognizing the cause of the downfall. The change has to come about if we are to survive and become a part of the mainstream contributing segment of humanity. We will have to go to work and quit wasting our time listening to the sectarian issues and participating in the discussions of what will happen to our bodies and souls in the graves or beyond.
That change is not going to happen in the Mosques by the Mullas, the landlords, and the worshipper of the graves.
