I always believed that if Afridi is allowed to open the batting his chances of batting good runs are more than what he normally does at no 7. Look at chris gayle, he fails most of the times as well, but when its his day he shuts up the critics every 5th or 7th match he plays. 7 out of 10 times Afridi is out on the boundary rope, while these 7 times could have been transformed into 4's had their no fielder at the boundary which happens when you play in the power plays.. And once you get through the 20 runs mark then you are always a confident candidate for scoring high runs..
