Bombing our own people was a hugeeee mistake. Also you need to read the history of those people. They are born fighter and will do anything to take revenge.

"Phoonk and Chiragh" is just an illusion. Tell me, where in real life it happens? Take the strongest "chiragh" blow just a little, and see if it retains the glow.

On the other note, did Pakistan ever really illuminated like a Chigragh? From day one till now. Corruption kept on increasing on daily basis. By corruption I mean both physical and intelactual. The leadership either political or religous, never ever tried to groom the nation. The result is in front of us.

We are paying the cost that any great nation has to pay for its independence and its future.

The British did not give the Americans their country on a silver platter. Americas had to fight for it. Blood was shed.

We are fighting to get rid of the extremists, corrupt politicians and an opportunist army. We are also fighting the foreign interests like India and other countries which are intervening in our affairs and supporting our enemies. The fight will not be easy but all is be achievable.

Some times you have to bring down the old building to construct a new one. Fifteen years ago, nobody could have even imagined that our media and judiciary will be independent today. No one would have thought that their could be a long march in Pakistan without a single bullet being shot. Times are changing, Pakistan is evolving.
People who don't embrace the change become a victim of the change.

I am extremely hopeful. Last night I was watching the coverage of the Lahore attacks. Three paramedics were being interviewed by the GEO staff. A paramedic informed the viewers that the firing inside the school was intense. He had to crawl in a pool of blood in order to reach the injured and the dead. His blood stained uniform yelled out to testify every single word of his account on the horrific and chaotic environment in the targeted premises. He told the viewers of a moving story of an injured police officer. The paramedic informed the viewers that after crawling through the blood he reached this injured son of Pakistan who was clearly bleeding in a manner which could have ended his life had he not received an immediate treatment. The paramedic informed the peace officer that he had to get out of the battle scene so that he can be nursed. The injured gentleman refused to depart from the battle and informed the paramedic that he is still capable to confront the attackers. He was forcibly removed by the paramedics from the scene.

This paramedic and policeman are the bright future of Pakistan. I fail to believe that this is the end of Pakistan. On the contrary, this is the beginning.

These citizens of Pakistan will protect Pakistan from its corrupt politicians, extremists, opportunist military dictators and evil neighbours. Myself and other patrons of this website may draw as bleak picture of Pakistan as we want to, while sitting in front of our computers and comfy chairs. But Pakistan will always be defended and developed by the people of Pakistan who have decided to own it. Like the paramedic, the injured police officer and the interviewers who risked their lives by reaching the scene of the battle.

Others who are distant from Pakistan can still contribute by investing in Pakistan. Buy Pakistani investments and Pakistani products. Go to Pakistani banks in your cities and ask them, how can you contribute. Buy Pakistani bonds. OR send more than usual monies to Pakistan so that your loved ones or their acquaintances can survive these difficult times. Most importantly go to Pakistani consulates and always vote on elections. Choose your candidates based on their abilities rather than their origins whether they are Punjabis, Sindhis, Baluchis,Pahtoons or Urdu speaking. Come up with other creative ways to help Pakistan. For example, if you are an expert in your field of work then every time you visit Pakistan arrange to volunteer for a free lecture or a presentation for the Pakistani students of your town.

No need for us to be prophets of doom.

I dare say.....this is not the beginning of the end of Pakistan. We are very close to the new evolved Pakistan. The new beginning is just around the corner.

Blast in Peshawar cantonment kills 11
peaking to the media at the scene of the blast, NWFP Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain confirmed the attack as a suicide car bomb blast.

A suicide bomber was in the car that was blown up near two checkposts, one belonged to the army and another to the CIA, Iftikhar Hussain said.

He said the number of people killed in the blast was 11.

I can tell you that 11 people have lost their lives in the attack. Three of them were policemen, he added.

According to DawnNews, the explosion took place at approximately 1:00 pm in the vicinity of a mosque, an army checkpost and a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) building.

The injured had been shifted to the Lady Reading hospital and several other hospitals across the city where an emergency has been declared.

Of the several injured shifted to the Lady Reading hospital, at least two were security personnel.
