In Pakistan Punjab is a revenue generator for the agricultural economy . Agriculture accounts 24% of GDP and Punjab has the largest contribution in the GDP among all provinces. The 48% of labor is engaged with agricultural sector and most of the land in Punjab is fertile. According to the Agriculture Punjab website Punjab has 57% of the total cultivated and 69% of the total cropped area of Pakistan. It provides about 83% of cotton, 80% of wheat, 97% fine aromatic rice, 63% of sugarcane and 51% of maize to the national food production. Among fruits, mango accounts for 66%, citrus more than 95%, guava 82% and dates 34% of total national production of these fruits. (http://www.agripunjab.gov.pk/)
What could be the reason that most of the people in Punjab who are related to this industry are poor, malnourished and uneducated? Because 2% minority which is called landlords ( jageerdars, and wadairays) have been occupied the land and resources for more than 60 year.
Being an agricultural country Pakistan shouldnt be suffering from food inflation and shortage, but this is happening since many years. Why? Because the people who are occupying the lands in the villages are the same people who have occupied the industry of flour and rice husking and sugar extracting in the industrial sector of Pakistan. They store the products and raise the prices to make the illegal profit.
Why are these criminal minded landlords and industrialists are supreme than the laws and the constitution of Pakistan? Because our political parties like PML (N) , PPP, and PML(Q) elect these people to the parliament where they make the laws which are beneficial for the 2% elite class and rest 98% suffers.
Should we close our eyes and start thinking that things will get better by time and on their own? No, we need a revolutionary change in Pakistan and Punjab can play an important role in this revolution.
A revolution through ballot in Punjab will prosper the whole country. We need to switch these corrupt faces with the true people who deserve to get elected and bring the change. This is the right time to elect lower and middle class people who can understand and solve the real issues of the people of Pakistan.

This crop comes only from the small land owners. Get the land occupied by the big landlords, distribute it to land less farmers and get 200% more crop.

Read it too:
"Punjab always had a population above 60 %. When East and West Pakistan were both ONE-Unit and there were NO separate functioning units (Provinces like; Punjab; Sind; N.W.F.P & Baluchistan) whole Pakistan had only 10-12 Federal Ministers under (Field Marshal Gen. Ayub Khan) President Rule till 1970. (Z.A. Bhutto was then Foreign Minister of Pakistan)!

Crushing defeat to India in 1965 war was result of our collective strength. Gen Yayha Khan who reached outskirts of Akhnor with Artillery (Kashmir) was forced to obey ceasefire accepted by President of Pakistan. (Under UNO resolution)!

Yaha Khan took reigns of Power on Gun-point from Ayub Khan in early 1970 and revoked ONE UNIT under Bhuttos political pressure who had formed his PPP by then.

As promised Yahya Khan held General Elections in free, fair and impartial manner in 1970 which give sweeping victory to PPP and Awami-League in West and East Pakistan respectively. Bhutto refused to attend the National Assembly Session called in Dhaka fearing Mujeeb-ur-Rehmans elevation as PM of Pakistan. Further; Bhutto was reluctant to sit in Opposition as Democratic (Western) System demanded. In his famous Nishtar-Park speech (Karachi) Bhutto thundered UDHER TUM_IDHER HUM. Resultantly, Pakistan dismembered!

Had Punjab been selfish like other provinces (having an equal status) NO Bhutto or another Sindhi would ever could come in Power on an ethical ground. No real Punjabi has entered the corridor of Power in Pakistan. Remember, Nawaz Sharif is a Kashmiri by virtue! Why Punjab should tolerate this injustice, for ever?

Chotay Bhai,
Remove the misconception about feudalism. No need crying "Wolf! Wolf". Better read "Jangloos" by 'Shaukat Siddique' again. It's written in style of a novel but contains most realistic and shameful account of occupation of fertile lands by 'claims' through fake and bogus documents by corrupt means to get allotments! Remove an other ambiguity too about much publicized and criticized landlords (jageerdars, and wadairays) having occupied the land and resources for more than 63 years. Correction is needed to this claim (Altaf Hussain & Cronies) as thousands of retired Brigadiers & Generals. are today the real beneficiaries WHO get hundreds of Acres of fertile land in Pakistan as against their rendered service to the Nation and because of honors & awards conferred upon them. Politicians are the breed of disgustful class that emerged after partition. Less than 3 % Landlords carry the land from their ancestors (British Rule)!
