Yes off course! KPK is producing around 7000 mega watt electricity and its need is 2300 Mega watt but KPK get only 1100 mega watt electricity on average while rest of the electricity goes to Punjab.

I will not say you Idiot.... if KPK needs 2300 Mega watt and there now heavy industry or industrial region in KPK then guess how much will be the need for Punjab. How many industries are there in Lahore only? Punjab need 8117 Mega watt electricity which is 68% of the total power generated in whole country while it produce few hundred mega watt electricity. aur jo bath ap ne ki he k sobay jo cheez banayenge pehlay khud use karenga iske lie apki correction krna lazim he,,,,,,,,,,,,, balochistan may sui gas nikalta he aur wah abi thak aise ilaqe he jaha gas connection nahi he..... Actually KPK is not producing 7000 MW of electricity. The hydel power stations in KPK produce about 3,500 MW when running on full capacity and these days they are running on one quarter of the capacity. In fact it is the government of Pakistan which owns and has paid for these power stations. The province has not spent a single penny for these power stations.

As per the constitution of Pakistan, rivers flowing through any province are not the property of that province however it may draw water from these based on allocation agreed in NFC. Any province can construct a dam on any river running through its territory provided it does not divert water share of other provinces. The federal government can also construct a dam anywhere in Pakistan and it is federation's property. However, the province in whose jurisdiction the power house of the dam is located is given a royalty by the federal government. This is why the federal government gives a royalty of Rs 7 billion to KPK each year for Tarbela dam.

So any province is welcome to construct power stations on teh rivers flowing through it without disturbing water share of other provinces. However, the power stations and dams which have been constructed by the federal government and which have been paid by tax payers' money belonging to people of all provinces are not the property of any single province,

So no, KPK or any other province is not producing even 200 MW of electricity.

Please reply with facts, not with rumors.

Tarbela dam's installed capacity was 3478 MW which has now gone down significantly due to silting. Warsak dam which had a capacity of 243 MW is totally silted and is not producing anything. The "hundreds" of small dams that you think are producing electricity do not exist in real world. Please feel free to contradict me by quoting names and generation capacity of only 50 of these "hundreds of dams".

Can you please tell me how much money has KPK spent on construction of Tarbela dam and how has it become province's property?
