Jee nahein, Nawaz Shareef has been elected by the people of Pakistan to be their PM for the third time. People know who to trust. Those who think people are bewaqoof, they are not getting anywhere despite their best efforts at conspiring in London and Islamabad---remember that vaunted dharna and 35 punctures.

Hamid khan ny kya kar lia tah 2011 sy pehly... IK akela khara tah... yeh us waqt bi Judgeoun ky sath tah ajj bi... nah us waqt party ky liye koi kam nah ajj.. lekin nuqsan ky liye sab sy agy... ham ny is bandy ki bhut izat ki.. lekin IK ky hilaf khara hony wally ky hilaf khara hona ham py faraz hai...

From what he does and says no one can say that Hamid Khan is a smart or reasonable person. But irrespective of the fact he seems to be an idiot doesn't this whole fiasco reflect badly on the leadership of IK?
Lot of people who are close to him say that he has not established any discipline in the party and he does surround himself with sycophants and thinks that he knows it all.
Its a proven over and over that he is very naive and is a terrible judge of people.
He was a great cricketer and athlete but a terrible leader of men and a hopeless politician.

I agree with your conclusions. Lot many people are trying to manipulate PTI to serve their vested interests. IK is merely a face for PTI that sells and these elements are making good use of IK instead of IK steering the party. We don't see that strong, commanding and disciplined IK now who won us the World Cup. Time is running fast and PTI will be hardly prepared to face next elections with land slide victory in mind and if it doesn't grasp victory, melt down will be on the way. People like Javed Hashmi, Justice Wajih and Hamid Khan are there to slow down PTI.
IK should have learned his lessons till now and a better way could be to part with PTI and lead a reformist group. If he fails to do so, somebody else will do.

I think he has shown that he doesn't have what it takes to lead the people yearning for change. He had an opportunity that fell in his lap out of nowhere but he squandered it because of his stupidity and his reliance on people who are no good. He is too old to learn anything new. His ways are set and from his rhetoric during he elections, which was full of cricket cliches, it showed that he was living off his world cup glory and had no grasp of the complex realities that are part of Pakistani politics.
A smart leader surrounds himself with capable men/women and then just leads them and channel the ideas coming from them. This guy had gathered hundreds of thousands and almost always you could count on him to deliver a mediocre speech which lacked substance and motivation. Instead of showing himself as a leader who rose above the crap that was all around he came across as a leader who was stuck in the low level politics. What we needed at time was someone who could have raised the level of discourse but he never came out of that low level politics.
He repeatedly fails even with the support that people showed for him and then admits that he was wrong but at the time he is always adamant that he is the only one who knows whats the best way. Remember he used to say that he knows how to build a team and how to win. Guess what he was the last person who could build a good team and who knew how to win in the political field.
If he was a real leader he would have stepped away and handed the leadership to some other young people and would have been involved at a very high level or just as a figurehead but its very hard for political leaders in pakistan and IK is not immune to it.

Your last 3 lines summarize the issue wisely. There are a few more factors attached to this complexity. An ordinary Pakistani does not look into details and bets on the faces. We do know that IK has charisma and his meaningless long speeches do sooth the psyche of mindless masses. Handlers of Pakistan have exploited the nation ruthlessly since ages and a common man is looking for anybody to axe this system down. I believe it is duty of the handlers to take swift approach to correct their way and unfortunately they won't as it shows until today. The Army has sensed the danger of anarchy long before the exploiters would and is out to mend the holes. If IK takes over ever, he won't be in total control I hope. He will galvanize the nation for the tasks but the tasks and strategy will be decided by the real stake holders.
