Nawaz Sharif announces to try Musharraf for high treason

اسلام آباد…وزیر اعظم نوازشریف نے کہا ہے کہ جمہوریت میں ہی پاکستان کی بقاہے ،قومی اسمبلی سے خطاب کرتے ہو ئے ان کا کہنا ہے کہ ملک میں آمریت اور جمہوریت کے درمیان کشمکش رہی ہے،سیاسی جماعتوں اور دانشوروں نے جمہوریت کاپرچم سرنگوں نہیں ہونے دیا۔12اکتوبر کو بھی شب خون مارا گیا جبکہ3نومبر کو بھی غیر آئینی اقدام کیا جس میں عدلیہ کے ججوں کی غیر قانونی حکم نامے کے ذریعے کام سے روک دیا گیا تاہم اب پر ویز مشرف کو اپنے اس عمل کا جواب دینا ہے اور آئین شکنی کا جواب دہ ہونا ہوگا۔

پرویز مشرف کے خلاف آرٹیکل6کے تحت غداری کا مقدمہ چلائیں گے اس سلسلے میں اٹارنی جنرل آج عدالت میں حکومتی موقف سے آگاہ کریں گے۔وزیر اعظم کا کہنا تھا کہ آج ہم منتخب ایوان میں موجود ہیں اور چاروں صوبوں میں بھی نمائندہ حکومتیں آ چکی ہیں،وزیر اعظم نے ایوان میں اپنے خطاب میں مزید کہا کہ پاکستان جمہوریت کے ذریعے وجود میں آیا یہاں انتقال اقتدار کا عمل جا ری اور ساری رہے گا

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced that former military dictator Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf would be tried for high treason under article 6 of the Constitution.

Musharraf faces charges of abrogating Constitution of Pakistan and detaining judges of the higher judiciary after imposing emergency on November, 3 2007.Speaking in the National Assembly on Monday he said hat Perevez Musharraf would be held accountable for subverting the Constitution of Pakistan, stopping judges of higher judiciary from working through illegal orders and taking unconstitutional step of imposing emergency on November 3.

He said that there had been a tug of war between the democracy and dictatorship, adding that political parties and intellectuals didn’t let the flag of democracy fall.He further said that Pakistan came into being through democracy and process of transition of power would continue in the country.

It will be interesting to see how the Supreme Court defends its position of validating the military take over.

SC did not only validate it but also allowed the so-called military dictator to amend the constitution. The CJ was part of the historic judgement.
