A Prayer in Spring ~ Robert Frost
Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

Re: this really is ICC official world cup 2011 song

AT LAST

At last, when all the summer shine
That warmed life's early hours is past,
Your loving fingers seek for mine
And hold them close—at last—at last!
Not oft the robin comes to build
Its nest upon the leafless bough
By autumn robbed, by winter chilled,—
But you, dear heart, you love me now.

Though there are shadows on my brow
And furrows on my cheek, in truth,—
The marks where Time's remorseless plough
Broke up the blooming sward of Youth,—
Though fled is every girlish grace
Might win or hold a lover's vow,
Despite my sad and faded face,
And darkened heart, you love me now!

I count no more my wasted tears;
They left no echo of their fall;
I mourn no more my lonesome years;
This blessed hour atones for all.
I fear not all that Time or Fate
May bring to burden heart or brow,—
Strong in the love that came so late,
Our souls shall keep it always now!

Re: this really is ICC official world cup 2011 song

We are many and you are few,
we listen to the crap you spew.
Don’t think we aren’t up to speed,
on truth and lies as you deceive.
You spout out lines of twisted tales,
like politicians or car sales.
You change what we would like to hear,
while your treachery has no fear.
You are what’s wrong in every way,
no longer care ‘bout what you say.
You paint your picture so distorted,
you change the story not reported.
The words come out but do not say,
the truth behind what you portray.
You bend the facts for your own gain.
How is it that you feel no pain?
LIAR!!!

Re: ஜ۩۞۩ஜ محفل شعر و ادب ஜ۩۞۩ஜ (Poetry Sharing Point)

Eyes of the maiden
By Abu Khattab

An ocean so deep I can imagine in them,
Their lines so fine - my eyes do follow.
A mysterious trance you throw me in,
Your eyes so full unlike those that are hollow.

May I look into the abyss that my heart has felt?
A shyness no longer showers my stare.
Where have you come from and what is your name?
The eyes that you hold are an irresistible pair.

"Do you not remember what happened just now?
The striking of the enemy a tool to your path.
By the Decree of your Lord it led you to us,
Your abode in Paradise is the evident aftermath.

I am a fraction of your reward that is present here,
One of seventy-two that await your company.
But join me first for I've been longing forever,
Join me by your river of the milk and honey."

I remember, I remember – my brothers I've left,
A brother beside me was hit in his knee.
I woke up here – a place of beauty,
Barely within it yet I'm already free!

"So brave you were in the night and the cold,
A life of hardship you led with a roar.
Your eyes vernacular to the battles at hand,
The lion within you unleashed with a sword."

May I stroke your eyes with the tips of my wings?
The light from your face is surely so bright.
Your skin so tender I can tell from its look,
Surely my reward is a pleasant sight.

Your scent unlike nothing my sense has smelt,
An aroma so rich I can barely stay awake.
Where are the others? May I see them too?
My heart for a spouse surely did ache.

My mind still unable to comprehend your eyes,
A delicacy so mysterious – I'm lost for words.
Gazing upon me as I inhale your scent,
To describe you to the world they'd think it's absurd.

"We are yours and you are our martyr!
Our Lord has gifted you with maidens of Paradise.
Take us, inform us, and do what you like,
For indeed you have made the ultimate sacrifice."

That veil that covers your glowing face,
Worth more than the world and what it contained.
May I lower it to see what remains of your beauty?
A desire I longed for and now I've obtained.

The marrow in your calves I see beneath your garment,
An amazing beauty as I gaze upon this.
Such a fine creation that tantalizes the senses,
Such a fine opposite – an irresistible bliss.

I was told your saliva is unbelievable in itself,
It has the ability to make the oceans so sweet.
May I taste the reward and see for myself?
For surely my maiden, you, I'm pleased to meet!

"You flatter me with the words that you say to me,
For my gaze is yours and not for any other man.
Chaste and pure – all for your pleasure,
Do what you like because in Paradise you can.

We are guarded pavilions that only reveal,
Reveal ourselves to the eyes of our spouse.
Our desire is you - a man who has fallen,
Fallen for Allah and gained this house.

We do not seek to displease our husband,
Nor do we envy or annoy our martyr.
A pure bliss that is free from hardship,
The seekers of our likes our surely smarter."

Like rubies your are in terms of your beauty,
Such an exquisite look that drowns my eyes.
Your whiteness so clear and so bright it is,
Like a pearl from water before it dries.

Let me hold your hands and examine them,
Your skin so soft that I can rest my head.
No blemishes evident on its perfect surface,
Surely you are as my Lord has said.

No wonder why the women would envy,
Envy and become hostile towards you few.
For you make a man crumble down to his knees,
And take hold of his heart and give him his due.

Flawed you're not in the smallest of sense,
Like a perfect rose that grows from gold.
The smile you put on the face of mine,
Like an infinite horizon that fails to fold.

The light from your face will light the universe,
If you were to peek to see this world.
Your scent so enchanting it is a desire in itself,
All this coming from a glistering pearl.

No heart, no ear, or eye has sensed,
That which I see right in front of me.
A fraction of Paradise yet I'm already so happy,
Whatever I long for it'll surely be!

But my favourite reward I stare at now,
The wide eyes embedded in your glowing face.
Stare at me, talk to me, and fulfil my wishes,
Unwind my mind as if undoing lace.

The fine lines of black that surround your eyes,
Are elegant touches towards your beauty.
The tips of my wings follow its course,
What a priceless reward for fulfilling my duty.

Those eyes I keep in my mind and heart,
To only think of them is to touch them too.
Forever, eternally, I shall stare into them,
An abyss so deep – so heavy and blue.

What await my brothers is indeed so blissful,
And I rejoice for now while I await their time.
Their time to enter the Gardens of 'Adn,
And to meet their Lord, the Most High, the Sublime.

For now I enjoy my company in Paradise,
My life in the Gardens is no longer laden.
Free I am to do as I please,
But for now I stare into the eyes of my maiden.

I am not sure whether I should call his face the essence of life;
Or life of the entire universe;
The truth is that it is (like) the glory of God,
From which all other (worldly) glories originated,

You Are My Ardour
You are my ardour, my friend, faith, creed.
You are my body, you are my spirit, heart, soul.
You’re the direction towards which I pray.
You are my Mecca, my mosque, my pulpit.
You are my holy books and my Koran.
You are my religious obligations,
My Hajj, charity, fasting, call to prayer.
You are my asceticism, worship,
My obedience and my piety.
You are my knowledge and you’re my gnosis .
You’re my remembrance, my contemplation
You are my tasting and my ecstasy.
You are my love, my sweet, my darling, my honey
You are my favourite, and my soulmate!
You’re my spiritual preceptor, my guide ,
You are my Shaykh and my Enlightened One
You are my hope, my wish, my gains, losses.
You’re all I see, my pride, my deliv’rance.
You’re my faith, my honour, modesty, glory
You’re my pain, sorrow, my crying, playing
You are my illness and my remedy.
You are what lulls me to a peaceful sleep.
You are my beauty and my fate, fortune, fame.
You are my looking, enquiring, seeking
You are my understanding, my knowing
You are my henna, my collyrium,
My rouge, my tobacco, my betel-leaf!
You are my terror, my passion, madness
You’re my crying and my lamentation.
You are my Alpha and my Omega,
My Inner, Outer, Hidden, Manifest.
If, O’Belovd, you accept Farid
You are my Sovereign and my Sultan.

Ghonghat ohley na luk sajna
Main mushtaq dedar de haan

Hide not behind the veil, my love,
I long to have a glimpse of you.

Terey bajh dewani hoi
Tokaan kardey luk sbhoi
Jeker yaar karey diljoi
Taan faryaad pukaar de haan

Without my love, I feel like mad,
People around me laugh at me.
He should come and cheer me up,
This alone remains my plea,

Ghonghat ohley na luk sajna
Main mushtaq dedar de haan

Hide not behind the veil, my love,
I long to have a glimpse of you.

Muft dukandi jandi bandi
Mil mahi jind aweien jand
Eik dam hijr nahi main sahndi
Bulbul main gulzar de haan

Your slave is being auctioned free
Come my love and rescue me
No longer can I perch elsewhere
I am the Bulbul of your tree

-
Ghonghat ohley na luk sajna
Main mushtaq dedar de haan

Hide not behind the veil, my love,
I long to have a glimpse of you.

A queer type friend!
He has the Quran in His hand and
And in the same the holy thread

Love

I have loved Thee with two loves -
a selfish love and a love that is worthy of Thee.
As for the love which is selfish,
Therein I occupy myself with Thee,
to the exclusion of all others.
But in the love which is worthy of Thee,
Thou dost raise the veil that I may see Thee.
Yet is the praise not mine in this or that,
But the praise is to Thee in both that and this.

Behold the diversity.
The soil is the horse, so is the rider
The soil chases the soil, and we hear the clanging of soil
The soil kills the soil, with weapons of the soil.
That soil with more on it, is arrogance
The soil is the garden so is its beauty
The soil admires the soil in all its wondrous forms
After the circle of life is done it returns to the soil
Answer the riddle O Bulleh, and take this burden off my head."
