4. Surely Allah‘s promise is true
[030 Surah Al-Rum, Verse 60]

So, be patient. Surely Allah‘s promise is true, and let not the disbelievers shake your firmness.

Not more than friendship

I wanted to fly with you
but you said not more than friendship;

I wanted to go beyond the galaxies with you
but you said not more than friendship;

I wanted to think about you more than thoughts
but you said not more than friendship;

I wanted to love you more than love
but you said not more than friendship;

I wanted no boundary between us
but you set a boundary of not more than friendship;

I know my limits now
which is not more than friendship;

I will never cross my limits
which is not more than friendship;

I am still very happy
because you accept me as a friend;

Oh my friend thank you for that limit
which is not more than friendship.

Re: Please Explain The Folowing Lines:

There are two meanings for this.
If you take the first line as a question then the meaning could be like
and the answer is no, so Iqbal is saying...Jaisay phool ki pati se heeray ka jiggar nahin cut sakta, aisay hi mard e naadan par
klaam e narm o nazuk asar nahin karsakta.
The second meaning would be that ...Phool ki pati se to mumkin hay heeray ka jiggar cut jaye lekin mard e naadan par kalaam e narm o nazuk asra nahin kar sakta!

There is a story about this, some college students went to Iqbal and asked which of these meanings was correct
and Iqbal said....Donon matlab khub hein lekin mein kuchh aur hi kena chahta tha!

He's Right .

I believe its saying that " a flower patta can cut the crust of a heera " but " tender wisdom cannot sway a fool"

Bijli darasal shehr main anjaam-e-hijr hay

bijli darasal shehr main anjaam-e-hijr hai
yaani suhaag raat main paighaam-e-hijr hai

shaadi hui kissi key meray qareeb main
"kaali suhaag raat" likhi thi naseeb main

jis roshni main shaadi hui thi chali gayee
utha naqaab-e-husn tu bijli chali gayee

dulha abhi tha muntazir-e-manzar-e-jamal

yeh WAPDA samaaj key deewar bun gaya

mishal na thi, chiragh na tha aur diya na tha
pehlay say bay-waqoof nay lighter liya na tha

jaisay keh taar coal chamakta ho dhoop main
gori dikhayee daytee thi **** kay roop main

dil bujhh raha tha kash'ma'kash-e-intizaar say
jaisay keh yeh bhi jalta ho bijli kay taar say

pankha bhi tha sakoon main "A/C" bhi band tha
gadda bhi MOLTYFOAM ka garmi pasand tha

jiddat shad-e-wisaal main goya bala ki thi
gurmi wahan bala ki nahin KArbala ki thi

dulha dulhan ko dhoondh raha tha idher udher

tareekiyoon main TAJ MAHAL dhoondhta tha woh
hijr-e-rajz main bahr-e-ramal dhoondhta tha woh

gulshan main jaisay koi gul-e-ter kay aas paas
pyasa bhatak raha tha samander kay aas paas

dulha mian tu hijr ki tanhaiyoon main thay
machar dulhan kay khaas shanasai'oon main thay

rukhsaar, naak, hoont keh woh qadrdaan thay
machar her aitebaar say puray jawan thay

mauqa jahan bhi laga kaat tay rahay
maajoon-e-husn jitni mili chat tay rahay

dulha say machcharoon ka shadeed intiqaam tha
machchar woh kar rahay thay jo dulha ka kaam tha

machchar ko iqtadaar-i-hukumat ka josh tha
aur hizb-i-ikhtalaaf ka quaid khamoosh tha

iss kashmakash mein subh ka aghaaz ho gaya
dulha ghareeb hijr ki chookhat peh soo gaya

jab aasman peh subh ki tanveer chaa gayee
sooraj hua tulloo tu bijli bhi aa gayee...:
