Aur bhi gham hein muhabat kay sewa...:(

The fourth Test between England and Pakistan at Lord's is at the centre of a police investigation into spot-fixing, after a 35-year-old man was arrested after allegedly being caught offering to bribe Pakistan's bowlers to bowl no-balls on demand.
According to a report in The News of the World, Mazher Majeed accepted 150,000 to arrange a fix involving Pakistan's new-ball bowlers, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, whom he allegedly asked to bowl no-balls at specific moments of the match. The paper also alleges that the team captain, Salman Butt, and the wicketkeeper, Kamran Akmal, are involved, along with three other unnamed cricketers.
A Scotland Yard spokeman said: "Following information received from the News of the World we have today [Saturday, August 28] arrested a 35-year old man on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud bookmakers."
Pakistan's team manager Yawar Saeed confirmed to Sky News that the allegations were being investigated, and according to Sky Sports News, police turned up at the team hotel in Swiss Cottage at 7.30pm, shortly after the close of an eventful third day of the Lord's Test, in which Pakistan were left on the brink of defeat after losing 14 wickets in the day.

Yup it's clearly evident that game is fixed. You know I have played good first class cricket in Pakistan and now Premier league in Australia, the way Pakistan bowled after getting england down for 102/7 was dodgy, field placing, bowling and fielding was shocking and at that time this match fixing thought came in my mind but I was like Nah they won't do it in Ramadan, it felt like Pakistan let England score runs and they bowled wide and short and dropped catches. I was getting so angry due to stupid field placing and idiotic bowling. I stayed up whole night to watch the game But I was so wrong , *******s let all of us down.

i've seen those no-balls in BBC news, they realy look deliberate and intentaional...... But Pak2010 is right, let the ash sit down and then comment.... 102/7 and then a mountain of scores from England seems a bit fishy though...... But Amir can not be involved otherwise he would have not taken 6 wickets..... Lets wait n watch..

Arrest over Pakistan-England 'cricket betting scam'

A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged cricket betting scam centred on the current Test between Pakistan and England at Lord's.
The News of the World claims it gave 150,000 to a middleman who promised to arrange for Pakistan to bowl three "no balls" during the match.
Scotland Yard said a 35-year-old man is being held on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud bookmakers.
Pakistan's manager said team members spoke to police at their hotel.
Earlier, Yawar Saeed told the Associated Press: "I can confirm that we are aware of the allegations and Scotland Yard police are with us now at the hotel and we are helping them with their enquiries."
He later said he was shocked by the allegations, as were the team members to whom he had spoken.A spokesman for both the England team and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said he had not heard from Scotland Yard and would not comment on the claims.
The News of the World has alleged that Pakistani players were secretly paid to deliberately bowl "no-balls" during the Test.
The newspaper claimed it was given pre-warning of three separate incidents by the Pakistan team.
It said members of its reporting team posed as Far Eastern businessmen and paid a middleman who told them exactly what would happen in the next day's play.
The BBC's Andy Swiss said the allegations involved "very minor, very small details within the match that might seem ridiculously trivial to a lot of people".
But he added: "That sort of information is worth a huge amount of money in the betting world where you can put bets on the tiniest details within a cricket game".
And he suggested the allegations could affect the sport's reputation.
"Cricket prides itself on the integrity of its reputation for fair play.
"This is a difficult situation for cricket and there are going to be some uncomfortable questions for the Pakistan team when the match resumes," he said.

Indians behind Pakistan's Lord game match fixing, deliberate attempt to destroy Pakistan Cricket, plz read

Majeed described how the betting scam operates. He reached into a carrier bag, pulled out a white BlackBerry phone and flicked through a series of messages.

I deal with an Indian party, he said. They pay me for the information Then Majeed explained how many cricket bets are placed on what he called brackets events happening in a group of 10 overs. If players score well in the first three overs punters would be likely to bet on that continuing for the next seven. But if the fixed players then deliberately STOP scoring or slow down, anybody in on it can make a killing, said Majeed. The same happens with bowlers giving away runs or throwing no-balls. Not only is Majeeds information invaluable to syndicates involved in spread betting where wagers are staked on a range of possible outcomes it is also golddust for shady bookies looking to manipulate the odds in their favour.

Indians are always scared of us, they do media propa****a to defame Pakistan and now new limits, they tried to ban Asif permanently now Amir is included in the list, MAKAR CHALAK BANYA, IT SHOWS THEY CAN NEVER BE TRUSTED IN ANY WAY.

Cricinfo understands from a source close to the investigation that a sum of 25,000 was found in the room of one of the Pakistan players, with further sums of 3000-4000 found on two other players. The source also confirmed that Mazher was known to the team, but in an informal capacity, and added that they fully expected to resume the Lord's Test on Sunday morning.
In a video secretly recorded during the NOTW investigation, a man alleged to be Mazher is clearly heard predicting that Amir would bowl the first over of the England innings, and that he would deliver a no-ball from the first ball of the third over - which as Cricinfo's ball-by-ball commentary noted: "was an enormous no-ball, good half a metre over the line." The man also appeared to correctly predict a no-ball from the sixth ball of the tenth over, bowled this time by Asif.

A Scotland Yard spokeman said: "Following information received from the News of the World we have today [Saturday, August 28] arrested a 35-year old man on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud bookmakers."

Pakistan's team manager Yawar Saeed confirmed to Sky News that the allegations were being investigated, with police turning up at the team hotel in Swiss Cottage at 7.30pm, shortly after the close of an eventful third day of the Lord's Test, in which Pakistan were left on the brink of defeat after losing 14 wickets in the day.

According to Sky News reporters outside the team hotel, police officers were seen leaving the building with two bags at around 11pm, while an unidentified man in a Pakistan training top was understood to have been taken away in an unmarked police car from the back of the building, although the team manager denied that any arrests had been made within the squad.

Even allowing for their disastrous on-field performance, Pakistan left Lord's with unusual haste after the third day's play, with the team bus departing barely 20 minutes after the close of play, before any member of the squad had taken part in the mandatory post-match press conference.

oo bhai please, we have failed!!! no matter what people say whos behing this incident, these guys have let whole nation down. If they had respect for the nation and some character and values, faith is bit too much for them, do you think they would have been sold? No matter how good asif and amir are they should not be back into pakistani cricket and punished, so they could become lesson for rest . Stop blaming others for our own deeds. We simplay dont have character. This is a fact and lets face it. This is what we have become (apologies to people who take it personally) but these players are PAKISTAN.

And do you think we should just believe this guy majeed now, whos proved guilty? can you trust his statement? he could come up with any stories now... making it political just to twist the story, this idiot even cannot calculate what consequences this statment can bring if he cannot prove that. if he, being a pakistan, knew indians are behind why he had to carry out this deal in first place?
i am extremly sad today.

PS: Also recall Stuart Broads body language and unexpected fearless batting, do you think he knew?

The crease was deliberately shortened before Amirs run up by RAW agents. That is the only plausible reason for him bowling no balls.

P.S. Im not from India.
