JALALABAD (AIP): Unidentified gunmen abducted two teachers yesterday in Chaparhar district of eastern Ningarhar province, local residents said Wednesday. The teachers teaching at a girls school in Spin Jumaat area were seized yesterdays noon, a local resident told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).He identified the abducted teachers as Haseebullah and Subhanullah, adding Subhanullah was later freed while Haseebullah was still in the custody of the kidnapper.Informed sources in Chaparhar district, meanwhile, told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) that Taliban had warned local residents not to send their children to schools until they are handed over people who were involved in the killing of a Taliban commander Maulvi Afzal.Maulvi Afzal was killed by foreign forces during an operation in Salozai area of Chaparhar.The sources said most of the students and teachers had stopped attending their schools after the Taliban warning.Muhammad Asif Shinwari, spokesman of Ningarhar education department, however, told AIP that they had not received any threats from Taliban nor any school was closed in the district.
