Allot of people are not going to like what I will write in the following post.
I had the same line of thinking as you guys have posted about supporting Bangladeshi's and tagging them with the title of " Ghaddars".
I met my wife in U.S. while attending University. She is from Bangladesh...but when I visited my in-laws in Bangladesh...I started to ask this question as to why Bengali's went against West Pakistan...what triggered it...I told my in-laws and they introduced me to business people...and I got their input...but I wasn't satisfied because my in-laws are extremely rich business people and I have noticed that people around them would not answer my question or be Open with me regarding this question...because they might say something insulting about Pakistani's and my father-in-law would get all upset with them ..and this what my wife told me that people would not tell you the real truth infront of her father so if you better want to understand I should accompany her.
My wife took me to different places in Dacca, Chittagong, Khulna..and some other places..and she would talk to the local and would translate to me in Urdu / English...You have to trust me ...we Pakistani's treated Bengali's as third class citizens..In Offices/Banks/Businesses we would not let the local bengali's to occupy Executive levels...We would export people from West Pakistan to occupy all the high paying jobs and treat bengali's with disrespect...It was not that Bengalis were not educated..they were educated but were not given chance to reach helms of Power. Their main reasons were West Pakistani's always wanted Bengali's to stay under their feet..they were hardly getting promotions in Govt. Jobs ( Only W.Pakistanis)...All these injustices boiled their blood....Then Pakistani army during the war...raped thousands of women..and this is a historical fact...no one can deny it. With due respect...Bengali's hate Punjabi's more then any body else....
So to solve the problem of Bangladesh was not the Pak. Army but the Policies which we adopted in West Pakistan towards Bengali's and our treatment towards them...which caused us to loose East Pakistan...If Hamid Mir's father was against Pak. Army then he was right...because problem could have only be solved if we would have given them Justice and treated them with respect and given them chance to take higher positions in Govt. jobs....With Respect...Regards...
PS: I am giving you the ground realities because I went there and explored it...
