Abdul Hameed Returning Officer of Provincial Election Commission Punjab said that there were 10 candidates, 187933 registered voters and some 145 polling stations were set up including 48 female, 51 male and 46 combine polling stations for by election.He said about 775 polling staff would be deputed and the polling material would be delivered on Wednesday morning among polling officers. He said polling would be held on Thursday, June 24 from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Election drive for PP-160 by-election ends

LAHORE: Election Campaign for by-election in PP 160 Lahore ends tonight, while election commission has called Rangers for maintaining law and order on the polling day.

According to details the election campaign concluded for PP-160 on Tuesday night. The election commission has also completed arrangements for polling on June 24.

On the request of local administration Rangers have also been called in for maintaining law and order situation on polling day, he concluded.

Imran reveals pre poll rigging plans

LAHORE: Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan while demanding of the Government and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to conduct elections under the supervision of Rangers, has provided 14,000 fake and bogus voters lists to the media persons.
Addressing the press conference, Imran Khan alongwith Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Ahsan Rasheed, Umar Sarfraz Cheema and with Mian Mehmood Rasheed said that PML-N made plans for rigging in elections of PP-160 as they had done in NA-123. He provided 14,000 fake voters lists to the media, which was recovered from Election Commission office situated in Fazlia Colony.
Imran Khan demanded of the ECP to conduct judicial inquiry and the government to carry out criminal inquiry of the rigging issue and blocked the result till the completion of inquiry. He said that he would fight against the Sharif brothers till the last breath and would combat them. When Sharif brothers came into politics they had one factory and now they have 22 factories which they made with corruption and fraud, he added.
Chairman Tehrik-e-Insaf stated that Mian Nawaz Sharif was doing rigging with the help of administration and ECP. He said that Nawaz Sharif ran away to abroad when any major issue raised in the country, as they are playing the role of friendly opposition. The federal government took notice over the corruption of Sharif brothers and save the masses money.
Imran Khan further said that the masses were disappointed by the double standard politics and was well aware of the current political situation.

in 2002 Zaheer Abbas the guy with PTI ticket had won from this area but for NA constituency...this election is for punja assmebly
in 2008 it was infamous Afzal Khaokhar (see video's above) who won the NA-seat

so it depends on mood of public...and braderi

But the info i have this time is that thing are looking pretty good for PTI..IK is out there campaigning himself

and location of Shokhat khanum and bad reputation of the PMLn candidate, who is seen as the big boss of landmafia in teh area; are helping factors too.

Here i have 2 say something,i have been following these election's,since elections campaign was started by IK,initially the election campaign was slow,but itt picked pace and by god i can swear anything,if this would have been general election's IK would have had sweeped N League here,he is drawing huge crowds plus suprisingly also from RURAL areas!!

Anyone doesn't beleives me Search PP-160 and you won't be dissapointed,For MQM please criticize PTi except for the point one seat wala ,now this point seems very childish!!!!

Imran for action against PML-Ns rigging plan

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has asked the chief election commissioner to take note of a `rigging plan by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) in Lahore by-poll for PP-160 and recommend a judicial enquiry into the matter.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr Khan provided evidence to the media of the pre-poll rigging and details of the election material seized from a fake election commission (set up by the PML-N candidate) office at Fazlia Colony, Ichhra.

He demanded that the federal government also initiate a criminal investigation into the plan and that the election results be withheld till the outcome of the judicial enquirys findings.

Flanked by Omar Cheema, Ahsan Rashid, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and PTI candidate Zaheer Abbas, Mr Khan asked the chief election commissioner to ensure the deployment of Rangers and restrain police from entering the polling stations.

He referred to similar pre-poll `rigging tactics employed by the PML-N in NA-123 by-elections held at the beginning of 2010. He said some of the houses in PP-160 had been allocated 40 bogus votes where the number of residents according to Nadras database showed a clear discrepancy.

The PTI chief said: Nawaz Sharif has been in the habit of luring umpires with bribery while playing at the Lahore Gymkhana. He said Nawaz was only playing the role of friendly opposition just to save his looted money.

The strong armed tactics of the PML-N have already been brought to the notice of the ministry of interior and federal and provincial election commissions, he said and added that despite sending applications, the government had yet to take action against the contesting PML-N candidate.

I dont think result of this by-election (who ever wins, no matter what) will ahve any significance of any kind. All parties gave tickets to already tried candidates, parties are basically trying to use biradri votes and political influence of these guys.

Imran Khan deserve credit to be out in public and exposing the most corrupt and anti-Pakistan people of all time, the PML - Nawaz people, but he is doing it now only because he want to win this seat, this is not any ideological opposition to PML fom him, he never criticized them in past, always maintained a soft corner for terrorists of PML and Jamat Islami.

All in all, nothing will happen no matter what the result of this constituency is.

مسلم لیگ کے امیدواروں کی ضمنی انتخابات میں کارکردگی بہتر رہی ہے


جعلی تعلیمی سند کی بنا پر خالی ہونے والی لاہور سے پنجاب اسمبلی کی نشست پی پی ایک سو ساٹھ میں آج ضمنی انتخابات ہورہے ہیں تاہم ان انتخابات میں پیپلز پارٹی اور مسلم لیگ قاف کا کوئی امیدوار میدان میں نہیں ہے۔
مسلم لیگ نون کے رکن پنجاب اسمبلی رانا مشبر اقبال کی جعلی ڈگری کی وجہ سے یہ نشست خالی ہوئی ہے۔ رانا مبشر دو ہزار دو کے چناؤ میں اس حلقہ سے کامیاب ہوئے تھے۔
پنجاب اسمبلی کے حلقہ ایک سو ساٹھ میں مسلم لیگ نواز، جماعت اسلامی اور تحریک انصاف کے امیدوار کے درمیان مقابلہ ہوگا۔ دو ہزار دو کے عام انتخابات میں جماعت اسلامی اور تحریک انصاف ان جماعتوں میں شامل تھیں جنہوں نے انتخابات کا بائیکات کیا تھا۔
لاہور سے نامہ نگار عبادالحق کا کہنا ہے کہ مسلم لیگ نواز نے اس حلقہ میں سیف الملوک کھوکھر کو اپنا امیدوار نامزد کیا ہے جو اسی علاقے سے قومی اسمبلی کے رکن افضل کھوکھر کے بھائی ہیں۔
تحریک انصاف کے امیدوار ظہیرعباس کھوکھر ہیں جو دو ہزار دو کے انتخابات میں پیپلز پارٹی کے ٹکٹ پر رکن قومی اسمبلی منتخب ہوئے اور بعدازاں پیپلز پارٹی پیڑیاٹ میں شامل ہوگئے جو مسلم لیگ قاف میں ضم ہوگئی۔
اسی حلقہ سے تیسرے امیدوار جہانگیر حسین بارا ہیں جن کو جماعت اسلامی نے اپنا امیدوار نامزد کیا ہے۔
لاہور کے ضمنی انتخابات کے بعد چوبیس جولائی کو سرگودھا سے خالی ہونے والی نشست پر ووٹ ڈالے جائیں گے جبکہ جعلی تعلیمی سند کی وجہ سے قومی اسمبلی کے دو حلقوں کے لیے ابھی ضمنی انتخابات کا شیڈول ابھی جاری ہونا ہے۔
یہ دونوں نشستیں بھی مسلم لیگ نون کے ارکان اسمبلی جاوید حسنین اور مدثر قیوم ناہرا کے نااہل ہونے کی وجہ سے خالی ہوئی ہیں۔
خیال رہے کہ لاہور ہائی کورٹ میں ابھی ارکان اسمبلی کی تعلیمی کے اسناد کے حوالے سے درخواستیں زیر سماعت ہیں۔

I have visited Wapda Town Polling Station, Satokatla and Nasheman Iqbal, overall PTI position is very good. Turn out is low as usual.
