The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore has not allowed install 3G equipment to Telenor. As per letter issued by the DHA to Syed Nasir Imam Bukhari, National Manager, Public and Govt Affairs, Telenor Pakistan in which Defence Housing Authority demanded to fulfill its requirements and information about BTS sites in DHA, 3G equipment and 3G sites. It is pertaining to mention here that the government is eyeing $2 billion by auctioning 3G spectrum and hoping to get additional million dollars investment in shape of next generation network roll out, cellular phone operators are still fighting for a very basic right of installing and maintaining mobile phone towers (BTS) in the cantonment areas of Pakistan as allowed in Telecom Act 1996. Cellular operators already fed up unjustified rental fee by Cantonment Boards and DHAs. Besides of this Telenor wants complete the network upgrade so that the people to benefit from 3G service.
