u said it using their influence to support
so that shows that those are not for Pakistan but for parties and personal gains

where as we are talking about big majority that is not part of these corrupt unions.
You got this out of the context as I clearly mentioned another thing which was HELP THEM before using INFLUENCE WORD......I think even a KID would understand what I mean by reading the FULL SENTENCE......So lame Efforts.....here let me QUOTE whole SENTANCE for you.....

They might be Violent or whatever but they also have so many friends as well to whom they hang around in daily basis and they might have also helped by using their influence which could have earned them GOODWILL and SUPPORT

Well I know much about the dynamics of university politics. I already stated it.

I maintain the silent majority of students don't necessarily have to do anything with the established parties in their universities. Jamiat is a potent force in almost all the public universities in Punjab, as they are the most violent, but JI enjoys no electoral support let alone support among educated youth.

Of course, in government universities of Kharachi, MQM and JI will be active as they are the established parties of Karachi. But the silent wave of support for PTI that is arising may wipe away the traditional forces and I truly expect that.

You can't speak on the behalf of the majority of the Karachi students. The students present at Imran's addresses were certainly willing to support his political program, and not just consider him a "good person".

Of course, banners against Imran Khan are a thuggish activity and your justification that "everyone does it" is a reminder that MQM is part and parcel of the corrupt status quo and that if we want to see Pakistan move ahead, we will have to go for alternatives.

The Political Awareness of Karachi based University students are mostly through Student Organizations like APMSO, Jamiat PSF etc.....In Private Institution you would hardly find anyone interested in Political talks when Karachi institutes are concerned......Students have their own lives and its pretty Busy in hanging out with each other or in Group studies....Even Event organizing is also keep students busy.....In university Cafeterias are considered as the place of Gathering and even if you find TV their you would hardly find any News Channel.....So its not entirely True that University students are Politically Aware......

In KU(Karachi University) where many of my Friends are studying tell me about Elections of their departments every year and student wings are elected in each Department to REPRESENT the students in front of University Management.....So student representation in Govt. Universities are also mostly based on Political inclinations or close contacts.....Their are many Departments in KU which has APMSO representation and their are also many departments which have Jamiat representation and same goes for PSF as well.....among them NSF, PSA type student organizations are almost NON EXISTENT when it comes to Representation of students......

Talking about MQm posting bannars then every Political student wings do almost the same thing in Karachi's Govt. Universities not just MQM.....So dont tell me if you dont have any idea of something as I am FREQUENT VISITOR of KU as well due to having many friends studying their.....Talking about Imran Khan then Imran Khan is merely considered as a good person but not as a POLITICAL CHOICE for most KU students cause their close Contacts with their Particular Union which they support are their Actual support.....

Yahya thats what I said that its through favors and influence that they get the support of FEW so its all about personal gains and benefits for these groups like MSF, PSF< APMSO, Jamiyat etc

That is your opinion. These universities students are politically aware and are educated.

I believe all Pakistanis who are knowledgeable and politically aware and do no stuffer from political affiliation support Imran Khan. This is true for Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and every other city of Pakistan. Though it depends how many people fall in this category regarding political awareness.

You know how government universities are filled with thugs of established parties. They common students even in those universities do not support parties like MQM, JI, etc, though they are very strong in these institutions.

In Punjab University, Lahore, JI is very strong and also in many other public universities in the country. Though I know as a student in one of these universities their scant support but pervalent thuggery.

I also note again, MQM's thugs posting banners against Imran Khan on the gates of certain universities of Karachi after they saw the support of Imran Khan among students.

I studied in Karachi, in a government institution no less. Students in private institutions are apolitical and want to remain so. And as you said they think of Imran as an entertainer, like Shahrukh Khan(your words not mine), then that might make sense why they would want to listen to him.

Saying that students of KU are thugs belittles the great people this institute has produced. There are at least 15, 20 student associations in KU but ISF is not one of them. If PTI wants to remain an elitist organistion then of course it is up to them

In Karachi things are very different.....The Political inclinations are cleared at Campus level cause Campuses provides them opportunity to meet with different types of Political Parties and to understand them as well while in other platform that doesnt happen and when we consider Karachi institutions then the only once who are SILENT are some Palestinian and African Students who study their....Only they are the once who mind their OWN BUSINESS while most students are involved in so many activities from Political to Campus......In KU their are DOZONS of student wings from ETHNIC LEVEL to RELIGIOUS LEVEL who use to attract thousands of Students in University......While in Punjab Universities their arent to many student wings so remain themselves Nrutral is easier their but not in Karachi based Govt. Universities.....In such Environment its almost IMPOSSIBLE to remain a SILENT MAJORITY cause in the end one has to inclined or come close to one of the student wing cause this is how a person can continue hgis education SMOOTHLY.....If not in daily basis then at the time of Elections a person has to DECIDE whom he stands along.....

First of all, don't pretend to talk on the behalf of the majority of Karachi youth.

Secondly, your argument is the same old rotten argument of major political parties that the educated and well off people who have the knowledge and can afford political awareness to to see through the dubious politics of traditional parties are somehow unfit to comment on political matters.

This fear of the educated and political aware class shows us all too well where you and your party stand. Like traditional parties, it depends on ignorance of people as well as their poverty and ethnic biases.

Are you suggesting there is an element of force which makes you affiliate with a certain political wing in KU when you say "you have to do that"?

Anyway, there is also a survey of LUMS conducted in 15 universities of Lahore and Karachi in which 70 percent of the respondents saw Imran Khan as the only hope.

So like it or not, you are behaving like an apologist of PMLN and PPP. The educated and politically aware class in Pakistan - whether rich or middle class - who can afford education and means of political awareness is converging to a transparent, honest new leadership and you can guess who that is. All you can do is to downplay this awareness and call it "elitist" or "burger" (LOL).

Call it what you want my friend but come election the youth of Karachi will be with MQM as it has been for the past 32 years. You will see them putting up flags and banners. While there will be no Imran support. Trust me my friend i live here i know.
And why do you think you can, not living in Karachi, comment on the political situation here. based on what?? Imran made a few speeches in a few institutes and you think he will sweep the youth here??? What world you living in?

Given a completely fair chance, which amidst MQM thuggry cannot be achieved 100%, I believe Imran Khan can do very well in Karachi. Of coruse, I know MQM is the strongest party at the moment and enjoys support in Karachi (we also know how it gained this support based on ethnic card). But you never know how things may change, or so I hope.

But don't rule out the support we have seen in these "few speeches". It is a tip on the ice berg. I believe PTI can organize such events show their support in most universities of Karachi including the governmental universities but obviously MQM student wings will put hurdles in it and PTI doesn't want undue tensions. But the silent support is the key.

I am citizen of Pakistan and can comment on the political situation of any part of Pakistan based on my experience as a Pakistani.
