The card has to be renewed. It’s a common practice everywhere. Imagine what can be done with it if it never expires.

It is a law, so you have to do it.
You have to take it , you have no choice.

You cant go to NADRA for card renewal once every 10 years? Do you want them to give you a lifetime NIC? What if you immigrate to another country and take up their citizenship? What if you grow a beard/shave it off? What if you gain weight, or lose weight? What if you go bald, or get a hair transplant?

نہیں جناب ہر جگہ ایسا نہیں ہوتا ۔ جن ممالک میں ہر کام ایک سسٹم کے تحت ہوتا ہے وہاں ایسا نہیں ہوتا ۔
مثلاً ڈنمارک میں شناختی نمبر زندگی میں صرف ایک ہی بار مل جاتا ہے جو پیدایش کے فوراً بعد ملتا ہے اور پھر بدلتا نہیں ۔ جب کوئی اپنی رہائش کا پتہ یا ڈاکٹر تبدیل کرے تو اس کو نئے پتے کے ساتھ وہی نمبر ملتا ہے کیونکہ شناختی کارڈ ہی صحت کارڈ بھی ہوتا ہے ۔
ڈنمارک میں شناختی نمبرکے آخری ہندسے سے حامل کی جنس کا بھی پتہ چل جاتا ہے ، تاک نمبر مونث اور جفت مذکر ۔
صرف پاسپورٹ ہر دس سال کے بعد نیا لینا پڑتا ہے بچوں کوہر دو یا تین سال کے بعد ۔

تصیح : تاک مذکر اور جفت مونث ۔ سکنڈے نیوین کی بجائے ڈنمارک لکھ دیا ہے ۔

Mr the one which you are talking about is not identified as Id card in Denmark, it's called yellow card holding ur unique identity number (aka cpr number) , lived in Denmark 15 years before moving to Sweden:)
This "yellow" card which u r referring to as id card never have a picture , its hold only ur address , doctor information, and ur unique identity , it's more a health insurance card , it's not accepted as id card throughout the country , passport or driving licence is valid identity in Denmark which has a picture and expiry:-)

Here in US. You get a permanent lifetime social security card with unique number and it is required for you to work legally here and collect Social Security Benifets after you retire.. Then you also get an ID or Driving license. They needed to be renewed after 4/10 years. Passport after 10 years. It will be for multiple reasons, collection of fees to support economy, you need to update the authorities about change of your address or health or change in your body or facial recognition. If you move, you must notify the ID department within 30 days and provide your new address. So if NADRA does the same, Chill it is ok for your safety and your fee helps the economy. Praise to Allah that we are citizens of a blessed country. If you don't believe then try to loose you ID and passport, I love to hear your story later Dr. Sahib.

No worries , by the way , do u live Denmark ? U r still not agreeing with me , yellow/cpr card is just för Heathcare, nothing Else, its not a valid picture id or even a id, i can remember one more occasion where u use it , buying monthly train pass , nothing else, children in Denmark don't have driving licence but even a 4 months baby have a valid passport in Denmark, that the only valis id considered in Denmark for doing everyday work :) ,offices banks etc thanks

بھائی اتفاق ہی تو کیا ہے کہ جہاں تصویر کے ساتھ شناخت کرنی ہو وہاں پاسپورٹ یا ڈرائیونگ لائسنس کی ضرورت پڑتی ہے ۔ لیکن روزمرہ کے کاموں میں صحت کارڈ ہی کام آجاتا ہے جس کے بغیر پاسپورٹ بھی نہیں بن سکتا اور نہ ہی ڈرائیونگ لائیسنس ۔ شخصی نمبر جو پیدائش کے فوراً بعد رجسٹریشن کے وقت مل جاتا ہے بہت اہم ہوتا ہے ۔
ایک تصویر والا شناختی کارڈ اور بھی ہوتا ہے جو اگر پاسپورٹ اور ڈرائیونگ لائسنس نہ ہو تو دستیاب ہوتا جو فیس دے کر بنتا ہے اور اس کی میعاد دس سال ہوتی ہے ۔
