ISI has links with Haqqani network, alleges Mullen
US accused Pakistan's intelligence agency of maintaining ties to militants in Afghanistan.

The top US military officer accused Pakistan s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of maintaining ties to militants in Afghanistan during a trip to Islamabad on Wednesday that was focused on easing diplomatic tensions.

Admiral Michael Mullen Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said that Pakistan s perceived foot-dragging in tackling strongholds in North Waziristan belonging to the Haqqani network and its continuing relationship with it was the most difficult part of the US-Pakistani relationship.

“It’s fairly well known that the ISI has a longstanding relationship with the Haqqani network,” he said. He said that Haqqani was supporting, funding, training fighters that were killing Americans and coalition partners.

“So that s at the core – it’s not the only thing -- but that’s at the core that I think is the most difficult part of the relationship," Mullen said.
ISI director has long been suspected of maintaining ties to the Haqqani network, cultivated during the 1980s when Jalaluddin Haqqani was a feared battlefield commander against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

Time to decide is now

I am sorry guys; this is the first step of demonising of Pakistan by USA.
Read in to his words, he said Haqqani network is killing Americans and coalition partners and Haqqani network is supported by ISA/Pakistan.

Now read from last week leak of discussion between Panetta and General Pasha, CIA is to protect American lives.

In effect, the case is being made, firstly Pakistan is endangering the lives of American through supporting the terrorists and secondly it is endangering the lives of American and NATO soldiers in Afghanistan by having links with Haqqani group. Add in it the message or threat that Pakistan has to make the decision faced by him after 9/11 and decide if he is with USA or against it.

Someone posted the video of the Air Marshal of PAF who said, what if we shoot down the drones, next time they will be accompany by the fighter jets.

Do you real expect from people who have this kind of thinking to respond?

1- USA or NATO cannot enter the Pakistani airspace, they do not have mandate to do so.

2- General Musharaf, the traitor, gave USA guarantees or enters in to agreements, but the agreements were never made public. However, those agreements should be cancelled immediately. Once Pakistan withdraws their consent or tacit approval for the drone attacks to continue.

3- Pakistan can bring China and Russia on board and lodge an official protest in the UN.

4- Pakistan can lodge an official complaint or case in international court of justice for unlawful killings of innocent without due diligence. Even though USA is not signatory to ICJ but Pakistan is a member.

5- Pakistan blocks the supplies, withdraw their co-operation completely.

6- Actively hunt down all the CIA operatives and dismantle their network in Pakistan at all cost.

USA will come to it senses very quickly they are sabre rattling. We should not be scared from their tactics. More we accept their heavy-handed tactics more they will push and demand.

Pakistan has tested the short-range nuclear capable missile recently, it is not without a reason, a message is sent to the enemies of Pakistan.

Time has come Pakistan to stand up with its full height. It has taken threats and accusations from puppets like Karzai; it is time to shut them up. USA is looking for escape goat for their failures in Afghanistan, exactly same it did in Vietnam, but the world is different now. They are well aware these events could easily lead to WWIII and widespread destruction by nuclear weapons.

It is time Muslims have to decide, or loosing their respect, freedom and self rule for centuries to come.

Remember, Bush spelled it out, these are new crusades, make no mistakes about it. Take example of Libya, there is plenty of evidence that troubles in Libya were planned months in advance. The rebels were trained, funded and supplied arms months before the conflict started.

Pakistan army accuses US of negative propaganda

ISLAMABAD: Pakistans army chief General Ashfaq Kayani vowed to defeat terrorism and rejected the notion of Islamabad not doing enough in the anti-Taliban fight, the military said on Thursday.
His comments followed remarks by Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff, accusing Pakistans Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency of having ties with Afghan Taliban in Pakistans northwest tribal belt.
The White House also criticised Pakistans efforts to defeat the Taliban operating on the border in a report this month refuted by Islamabad.
The army chief strongly rejected negative propaganda of Pakistan not doing enough and Pakistan armys lack of clarity on the way forward, the military said in a statement, a day after Mullen met top generals in Islamabad.
Kayani said that the armys ongoing operations are a testimony of our national resolve to defeat terrorism, according to the statement.
In an interview with private TV channel Geo, Mullen the highest ranking officer in the US armed forces said: ISI has a long standing relationship with the Haqqani network, that does not mean everybody in ISI but it is there.
The statement did not mention the Haqqani network.
The army defended its stance against terrorism in general and acknowledged that a trust deficit between the institutions as well as the people existed between the US and Pakistan.
But Kayani and Mullen re-stated their aims of building reciprocal respect towards each others sovereignty and the statement said security ties will not be allowed to unravel between the two armed forces.
The Haqqani network is an al-Qaeda-allied organisation run by Afghan warlord Sirajuddin Haqqani and based in Pakistans North Waziristan tribal district.
The group has been blamed for some of the deadliest anti-US attacks in Afghanistan, including a suicide attack at a US base in Khost in 2009 that killed seven CIA operatives.
Kayani said public support was key to success in the war against terrorism but said that controversial US drone strikes not only undermine our national effort against terrorism but also turn public support against our efforts.
Mullens trip is the latest shuttle diplomacy mission after a fatal shooting by a CIA contractor in January triggered a row between the US and Pakistan over intelligence sharing and raised tensions over the controversial US drone war.
In recent weeks, however, Kayani has spoken out against the strikes. In mid-March, he issued a strong statement denouncing on such attack after it killed nearly 40 people. While the US insisted the group consisted of militants, Kayani said dozens of mostly innocent tribesmen died.
That strike came the day after the US secured the release of American CIA contractor Raymond Davis by paying the families of the two shooting victims so-called blood money. The Davis case badly strained relations, with Pakistan refusing to take a stand on whether Davis had diplomatic immunity from prosecution as the US embassy claimed.
