What DO YOU READ IN PAKISTANI BOOKS ABOUT GANDHI?

Since my childhood i read only bad about ghandhi i never read how he fought in south africa.How he fought against British rule.How he supported pakistan after its creation against hindu fundamentalists like sunash chanadr bose ,nehru and sardar patel.

How can we even imagine that indians who read about quaid e azam as a traitor,nation breaker and fanatic muslim become hero in INDIA!

WHEN I CAME TO USA AND HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT GHANDI, I WAS STUNNED. I HAD READ ABOUT HIM IN PAKISTAN THAT HE WAS A 'MAKKAR' HINDU. AND HE WAS GAY(YOU KNOW WHAT GAY MEANS THERE)

I don't knw what books you read in Pakistan.
When I was in school they didn't say anything bad about the Indian leaders. Why should they even discuss the Indian leaders?
Actually, the school books that mentioned the 1965 war did even mention india by its name. India was referred as a neighbouring country. In my times, we ddn't get taught anything about the 1971 war, hence no mention of India again.
I learned bad things about Gandhi through word of mouth. Nothing too bad. However, I did hear a lot of bad things about Nehru.
Has the syllabus got changed in Pakistan?

I don't know what they teach in Indian shools. It seems that they demonize Jinnah. I could be wrong. May be an Indian patron can help us out with this matter.

Don't forhet that Jaswant is pretty old. He probably was in his teens or a little younger when the a partition took place. He probably remebers a lot of stuff and digested it while growing up. He is only the second Indian politician after Advani who has publicly expressed a positive opinion about Pakistan. I know a lot of people in Pakistan who have a lot of respect for Gandhi and who don't get alienated after publicy expressing their opinion.

i dont know where did u spend ur childhood but i m sure it has not been spent in pakistan. i was also in pakistan but i never find any text book during my school/college/uni period which writes ghandi as "Makkar Hindu Baniya". even if u read today's Daily Jang (urdu), u will find an article from Dr Safdar Mehmood which starts with praise for ghandi's leadership. there are many other examples too.
