What do you think?Ulema should have nothing to do with moon sighting it is beyond their scope of expertise nor their job. Just like we don't look at the position of the sun or stars for prayer timings or sehri or iftar but rather established science, Moon sighting can also be predicted very precisely today,
So this job should be handed over to the people whose are experts in this field.
Yeah but you forget. The southern hemisphere has opposite seasons. SO for the poor folk down in Australia, South Africa, South American. Ramadan will always be in summer. As per the mullah to confirm the moon sighting is not ordained in the Quran. It should be left to the educated scientists.
What do you think?
Off topic but...
First of all the Ramadaan should always be in September. Moving Ramadaan every year 10 days back doesn't make any sense.
Majority of the Islamic months are based on seasons.
For example Rabiul Awwal and Rabiul Sani means spring the first and spring the second. How can we have spring in winter or summer? These are the 3rd and the forth month of the Islamic calendar. So basically march and April as in gregorian calendar.
What we need is a luni solar calendar.
In March and September the days and the nights are approximately of same length all over the world. Its called the equinox.
The Ramadaan should start at the first lunar sight in the month of September.
I know lots of you will not agree with me but i am putting a rational and more logical scenario here.
Then why they named the months as per the season? Spring shouldn't come in winter or summer?Yeah but you forget. The southern hemisphere has opposite seasons. SO for the poor folk down in Australia, South Africa, South American. Ramadan will always be in summer.
With the current system everyone across the globe gets to experience Ramadan in all the seasons
If that's not an issue then why is having a "revolving" Ramadan an issue? Believe I live in thevdesert and I would like nothing more than not to have to fast in 50C temperatures in 17-18 hour long days. Then why they named the months as per the season? Spring shouldn't come in winter or summer?
Being always in summer is not an issue.
I still believe thst, we are just following the conjecture. If that's not an issue then why is having a "revolving" Ramadan an issue? Believe I live in thevdesert and I would like nothing more than not to have to fast in 50C temperatures in 17-18 hour long days.
But I understand the logic and wisdom of keeping it fluid. So everyone gets to experience Ramadan in winter as well as summer and everything in between.
You are free to believe in whatever you want to. For example you don't even believe in Salah, Hajj or fasting. So what time of the year Ramadan should fall in is the least of your worries.I still believe thst, we are just following the conjecture.
Oh boy don't make up stuff. You are free to believe in whatever you want to. For example you don't even believe in Salah, Hajj or fasting. So what time of the year Ramadan should fall in is the least of your worries.
Maybe I'm mistaken but as I recall when I quoted you ayats about fasting and hajj, you dismissed them saying my translations and interpretations are wrong.Oh boy don't make up stuff.
Show me where did i say i don't believe in haj or fasting?
Yes i don't believe in man made namaz as it is not in the Quran.
No, you are wrong again.Maybe I'm mistaken but as I recall when I quoted you ayats about fasting and hajj, you dismissed them saying my translations and interpretations are wrong.
Or maybe you have a different form of fasting and Hajj, Just like you have a different interpretation of the word salah. I know on purpose you use the word namaz to donate some persian form of Zoroastrian worship to further your case, but the correct word as you very well know is Salah.
So I was kinda right, my apologies none the less, just out of curiosity what is your version of fasting? No, you are wrong again.
First of all we never discussed the fasting.
About Hajj, i said that it doesn't make any sense to me to go around in circles 7 times, Running between the stone structure 7 times, kissing a black stone and throwing stones at the 3 stone pillars.
Wearing two piece of cloths called ahraam?
Even the monks and yogis wear very similar dress.
This was my point about Hajj and i never denied the Hajj though.
Hajj does not mean pilgrimage. It means to discuss and debate.
I am still learning about lots of things as i am just a student and life is to learn from the cradle to the grave.
Well no one's here to win a popularity contest anyways, well at least most aren't ............. I hope!If anyone agree with me or not it really does not bother me
As is everyone else.i am responsible of my deeds and i am answerable to my Allah.
Sorry to keep bangin on about this, but didn't you also say Salah means the same thing. So why have two different events?Hajj does not mean pilgrimage. It means to discuss and debate.
Salah means to adhere to the laws of Allah or following closely.Sorry to keep bangin on about this, but didn't you also say Salah means the same thing. So why have two different events?
I don't have a personsl version of fasting. So I was kinda right, my apologies none the less, just out of curiosity what is your version of fasting?
