پہلی بات تو یہ کہ کراچی سرکلر ریلوے کو ہی اگر ٹھیک کر دیا جایے ، ریلوے کی زمین کا قبضہ واپس لے لیا جایے ،،، کراچی کی ٹراسپورٹ مافیا اور ٹریفک پولیس کو سیدھا کر دیا جایے ، تو اس طرح کی فضول سکیموں کی ضرورت نہیں ہے .
فضول اس وجہ سے ہے کہ کوئی بھی منصوبہ کراچی میں مندرجہ بالا اقدامات کے بغیر کامیاب نہیں ہوتا ، کہ اس سے قبل کراچی میں کراچی اومنی بس ، پھر گرین بسس کا منصوبہ خاک ہو چکا ہے ، ایک مرتبہ کے ٹی سی نام سے بھی یہ دھوکہ کیا گیا ، مگر سب کچ نقصان ہی میں گیا آج بھی گرین بسیں ناکارہ کھڑی ہیں ورکشاپ میں ،
یہ سب عوام کی پیسہ تھا مگر سابق ناظم مصطفیٰ کمال نے اپنی کمپنی کی مشہوری کے لیے چند دن واہ واہ سمیت لی اور عوام کا پیسہ ہضم ،
ہو سکتا ہے نواز حکومت بھی اپنی مشہوری یا اس کے ٹھیکے سے اپنا منافع حاصل کرنا چاہتی ہو ،، یا سیاسی فائدہ لینا چاہتی ہو ، ،،،،، تو باقی تو مجھے پتا نہیں مگر ووٹ ان کو کراچی سے نہیں ملنے کا ، یہ مجھے پورا یقین ہے ،
کراچی میں جو ان کے نمائندے ہیں وہ خود لینڈ مافیا ، اور جرائم پیشہ ہیں ، اگر ایسے ہی لوگوں کو ووٹ دینا ہو تو پھر متحدہ قاتل مومنٹ کو ہی کیوں نہ دیا جایے ، مگر لوگ نورا / قاتل موومنٹ سے خوب واقف ہیں ،

One thing you have to keep in mind is that Istanbul is a completely different terrain with water and hills compared to Karachi or Lahore. Building a underground train is cost prohibitive and very difficult to build because of the terrain.

Also, they have a very effective public transport thats already in place and the metro bus augments that system.

What they are doing in Lahore or plan to do in Karachi is to build this one off project with not much infrastructure or services to make full use of it.

Yes Indeed a difficult terrain and that makes the city so beautiful but hats off to them that they have done rather well in building a fairly decent size underground system and Rapid Transit compliments the overall system by covering longer distances.
In Pakistan we should not expect they will follow the same order due to limited resources. A comprehensive underground system in Karachi will require 10 Billion Dollar investment, who will fund this project? So instead of waiting lets just do what is possible.

Yes Indeed a difficult terrain and that makes the city so beautiful but hats off to them that they have done rather well in building a fairly decent size underground system and Rapid Transit compliments the overall system by covering longer distances.

I agree that its one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Also agree that they have a pretty good job of the public transport system with different modes of transportation that complement each other and is effective given the terrain and the number of people.

Honestly I don't think that a 10 billion dollar investment would be needed. A scaled back underground system complemented by surface transport like trams and buses could easily handle the transport problems in the city.

I am not sure how familiar you are with Karachi but the fact is that Karachi DOESN'T have a transport system at this time of any kind. Its a hodgepodge at best and controlled by mafias with the sole intent of making money without any consideration for relieving the congestion on the street or the convenience of the customers.

Trust me that even a half decent transport system based on the practices and principles that are widely used worldwide could solve a lot of problems in Karachi.

Sometime there is a method to madness but in Karachi's case its pure madness where you can't make any sense out of the way the Karachi transport works at this time.

My concern is that they are diving into this major investment very quickly without proper due diligence or feasibility and that it would tie up not just the financial resources but also valuable land and will be tied up for this project which may or may not solve the issues.

As with many things in Pakistan a little tinkering and a sane and deliberative approach can solve a lot of problems.
