Amir-e-Millat Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Sahib Muhaddas Ali Puri (r.a.) was one of the great saints of Sialkot, Pakistan. He was Wali Allah of Naqshbandia Sufi order.

At the age of 100 years, he was a big supporter of the Pakistan movement and amongst his admirers was one Allama Iqbal. He wrote many letters to Quaid e Azam offering advice and support and he was instrumental in getting the populace to vote for the Muslim League: he issued a fatwa saying that Muslims would not offer the janazah prayer of anyone who did not vote for Pakistan, also, Congress supporters would not be buried in Muslim graveyard.


He sent a tasbih and prayer mat to the Quaid too and asked him to pray regularly. As a Sufi he occupied the status of a Perfect Master and he was loved by all and sundry. It is for his love of the Beloved Prophet of Allah (Alayhi salaat o salaam) that he is especially famous. He passed on to his Creator in 1951 but until the very end he stuck passionately to the commands of the Shar'iah, never missing a prayer and often he would pray all night long.

@wadaich Thank you for sharing. He was my maternal great Grand father. His resting place is Ali Pur Sayedan. He remained President of All India Sunni Conference. When certain Ulemas started giving Fatwas against Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was the first one to stand in favor of greatest leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah.A lot of known friends has questioned me about his staunch support for Pakistan and giving degree against those Muslims who will not support Pakistan. At that time, a lot of Congressi Ulemas and many others started giving fatwas against Pakistan. (Today, they have became champions of Pakistan). It is worth mentioning that current Pakistan opponent Ullema parties has disowned and sometimes discredit that they ever opposed Quaid-e-Azam. Today, they have championed Quaid-e-Azam. Pir Jamaat Ali Shah had huge following all across India, and was extremely influential personality. I personally believe he was a true man of Allah. (His children or any grandchildren can not reach 1% of his standard).Yesterday, Altaf Hussain questioned Quaid-e-Azam's integrity, which even his worst enemies believed in. This circle of attacking Quaid and Mohatarma Fatima Jinnah (cheapest language used by Ayub and her role cut down from all official narrations and books) continues.

P.S: May ALLAH bless Quaid-e-Azam soul for giving us not just religious freedom, but social, economical and cultural freedom as well.
