Partial Curfew to be imposed in sensitive areas of Karachi

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that partial curfew will be imposed in sensitive areas of Karachi to control the increasing incidents of target killings in the city.
He was talking with media on Karachi Airport before departing for Islamabad on Sunday after attending a high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
Decision to impose partial curfew in more sensitive areas of Karachi is made, whereas some target killers are captured red handed who are under interrogation of security agencies, interior minister told.
He said a third hand is involved in dismantling the peace of Karachi that aims MQM, PPP and ANP to come across each other, but their wishes never come true as the leadership of the three parties is on the same line.
Rehman Malik said terrorism is a national issue while to combat with it and to unveil the faces of culprits involved in it, all parties need to unite. They will be arrested at any cost, Malik added. He assured situation will smooth down in upcoming days.
It is the top agenda of federal and provincial governments to ensure the peace and peace will return in Karachi regardless of the cost involved in it, Malik said.
While responding to a question, he said action under the terrorism act will be taken against those who use the stolen cell phones.
Earlier, Rehman Malik attended a high level meeting chaired by CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah in which target killing and security situation of Karachi was discussed. Decision of imposing partial curfew and holding search operations by police and rangers in sensitive areas of Johar Town and Orangi Town are taken in the meeting. During the course of operation, pillion riding will be banned and nonnative will be interrogated.
