Pakistan's Increasing Population: Good or Bad?

ONE SIMPLE OBSERVATION

No matter what, the population of the World as a whole will rise and rise

China has had a ONE child per COUPLE policy for decades.......................

Dont see a decrease in their population...................

The rate of global population growth has slowed. And it’s expected to keep slowing. Indeed, according to experts’ best estimates, the total population of Earth will stop growing within the lifespan of people alive today.
Population decline is a very familiar concept in the developed world, where fertility has long since fallen far below the 2.1 live births per woman required to maintain population equilibrium. In Germany, the birthrate has sunk to just 1.36, worse even than its low-fertility neighbors Spain (1.48) and Italy (1.4). The way things are going, Western Europe as a whole will most likely shrink from 460 million to just 350 million by the end of the century. That’s not so bad compared with Russia and China, each of whose populations could fall by half. As you may not be surprised to learn, the Germans have coined a polysyllabic word for this quandary: Schrumpf-Gesellschaft, or “shrinking society.”

[h=1]World population to hit 11bn in 2100 – with 70% chance of continuous rise[/h]The world’s population is now odds-on to swell ever-higher for the rest of the century, posing grave challenges for food supplies, healthcare and social cohesion. A ground-breaking analysis released on Thursday shows there is a 70% chance that the number of people on the planet will rise continuously from 7bn today to 11bn in 2100.
The work overturns 20 years of consensus that global population, and the stresses it brings, will peak by 2050 at about 9bn people. “The previous projections said this problem was going to go away so it took the focus off the population issue,” said Prof Adrian Raftery, at the University of Washington, who led the international research team. “There is now a strong argument that population should return to the top of the international agenda. Population is the driver of just about everything else and rapid population growth can exacerbate all kinds of challenges.” Lack of healthcare, poverty, pollution and rising unrest and crime are all problems linked to booming populations, he said.

Our Population is already near 20 crore

Indeed we should decrease our Population to 10 Crore and we should plant forests in half of Punjab around every population center for clean and healthy environment

Such alarmist projections have been proved wrong by the actual data and facts in America, Europe and East Asia in this century. The same forces that brought down population in the developed world are now driving down birth rates in the developing world. These forces are: increasing education, urbanization and delayed marriages.
