How is the world of sight and sound?
Satan:
Pain and passion; quest and yearning.
Gabriel:
Thou never talkest of anything but the heavens.
Is there no cure for thy constant pain?
Satan:
Thou knowest not, alas, the secret of my pain!
The loss I have suffered, has increased my passion more-,
How silent is this world; desolate and wild!
I cannot ever live here; I cannot!
For one whose despair throbs in the heart of the universe,
What is better-despair, or hope?
Gabriel:
By thy refusal thou hast lost thy place in heaven—
And disgraced the angels in the eyes of the Lord.
Satan:
My courage gave a speck of dust the impulse to grow;
My cunning is the fabric of man’s intellect.
Thou watchest the war of good and evil, safely ashore,

Allah se shikayat kr k khud uss ka jawab dena mujhe wakay hi samajh nahi aya... aur na hi main ne aaj tak iqbal k iss amal ki tareef ki k uss ne shikwa jawab-e-shikwa likh kr koi buht bara kaarnama anjaam dia... ahl-e-dil aksar kisi ghunoodgi k aalam men buht si aisi batain kah jatay hain jin se khalq-e-khuda gumrahi k ilawa aur kuch haasil nahi krti... hamaray soofi poets ne bhi apni majzoobiyat men najanay namaz rozay ko kaee baar aik aam si cheez sabit krnay ki koshish ki aur apnay shairi men na janay aisi gumrah kun batain kah gaye k la ilm aur saada log gumrah hotay rahay... aisi shairi jis se kufr-o-nifaaq ki boo bhi aati ho usay utha k bahir phaink dena chaye..

Iqbals poem Shakwa was one of his most thrilling poems, which he recited personally in the month of April 1911 at the annual session of Anjuman Himayat-i Islam held in the compound of Islamia College, Lahore. It was largely applauded and subsequently published in the magazines and journals of the country. This poem consists of 31 stanzas having six verses each. In the poem Iqbal has highlighted Islams living traditions in such a way that it strikes the very heart of a person. The carefully selected and well-knit words of the poem were immensely effective. They filled the hearts of a deprived nation with new life, courage and enthusiasm. The poem Shakwa is a unique example of a complaint to God.
After one year of reciting Shakwa Iqbal presented Jawab-i Shakwa in a huge gathering in 1913 at a famous public place Outside Mochi Gate of Lahore City. Jawab-I Shakwa contains 36 stanzas of six lines or verses each. This thrilling poem in a way was a call from God rather than a reply to Iqbals complaint. It added fire to the already boiling blood of the nation after Iqbals Shakwa, as a result of the Indian Muslims arose with a new life filled with enthusiasm, courage and a determination to change their fate. Inspired by Iqbals songs they were united, fought the war of independence and achieved victory. Once again the Muslims of India were a free nation and masters of their own destiny living in an independent country called Pakistan, the new Muslim State appeared on the world map on the 14[SUP]th [/SUP]of. August 1947.

Poetry is an expression of thought and it all depends on the mood of the writer happiness, unhappiness, unfulfillment reflects in the poetry. In one of the programs his son, Javid Iqbal, has stated that his dad himself did not know what he wrote.
The best I can make of this thought is trying to make some sense of this world of senses that all of us are made of. Senses are merely a speck of dust who are very demanding never satisfied very possessive.

بعض کو الله نے اتنی سمجھ دی ہے کہ وہ اقبال بن گیا
اور بعض کی بالائی منزل میں صرف بھوس ہوتا ہے

بھائی اقبال کے ایک ایک مصرے کو بیان کرنے کے لیے کتابیں لکھنی پڑھتی ہیں
اور ان کے تصوف کی گہرائی کی سمجھ ہر ایک کے بس میں نہیں ہے

قصۂ آدم کو رنگیں کر گیا کس کا لہو!
میں کھٹکتا ہوں دل یزداں میں کانٹے کی طرح
تو فقط اللہ ھو ، اللہ ھو ، اللہ ھو
نظم جبرئیل و ابلیس
بال جبریل کی نظم” جبریل و ابلیس“ بھی اقبال کے تصور ابلیس پر روشنی ڈالتی ہے۔ نظم ایک دلچسپ مکالمے کی شکل میں ہے جس میں جبرئیل اپنے ہمدم دیرینہ شیطان سے بڑے دوستانہ لہجے میں پوچھتا ہے کہ جہاں ِ رنگ و بو کا حال کیا ہے۔ ؟ ذرا ہمیں بھی بتائو شیطان اس کے جواب میں کہتا ہے کہ جہاں عبادت ہے سوز و ساز وردو جستجو ہے۔ جبریل اُسے کہتا ہے کہ آسمانوں پر ہر وقت تیرا ہی چرچا رہتا ہے۔ کیا یہ ممکن نہیں کہ تو خدا سے اپنے گناہوں کی معافی مانگ لے اور پھر ذات باری کا قرب حاصل کرے جواب میں شیطان کہتا ہے کہ میر ے لئے اب یہ ممکن نہیں میں آسمان پر آکر کیا کروں گا۔ وہاں کی خاموشی میں میرا دم گھٹ کر رہ جائے گا۔ آسمان پر زمین کی سی گہما گہمی اور شورش کہاں ہے۔ جبریل یہ باتیں سن کر بہت ناخوش ہوتے ہےں اور دکھ بھرے لہجے میں کہتے ہیں کہ اسی انکار کی وجہ سے تو نے اپنے مقاماتِ بلند کھو دئیے ہیں ۔ اور اسی سے تو نے فرشتوں کی بے عزتی کرائی ہے تمہارے اس اقدام کے بعد فرشتوں کی خدائی نظروں میں کیا آبرو رہی؟ اس پر شیطان چمک کر جواب دیتا ہے کہ تم آبرو کا نام لیتے ہو؟ کیا تمہیں معلوم نہیں کہ میر ی جرات سے ہی کائنات وجود میں آئی اور میری ہی وجہ سے عقل کی ضرورت پڑی ۔ تیرا کیا ہے تو تو ساحل پر کھڑا ہو کر تماشا دیکھنے والوں میں سے ہے۔ تو خیر و شر کی جنگ کو بس دور سے دیکھتا ہے۔ میری طرف دیکھو کہ میں طوفان کے طماچے کھاتا ہوں یہ میں ہی تھا جس کی بدولت آدم کے قصے میں رنگینی پیدا ہوئی ورنہ یہ ایک بے روح داستان تھی ابلیس و جبریل خیالات کی بلندی کے اعتبار سے اردو شاعری میں ایک معرکے کی چیز ہے۔

اقبال کی یہ نظم پڑھتے وقت کوئی شخص شیطان کی عظمت و شکوہ سے متاثر ہوئے بغیر نہیں رہ سکتا۔ یہاں اقبال نے اُسے ”سوزِ درونِ کائنات “ قرار دیا ہے۔

بال جبریل کی نظم” جبریل و ابلیس“ بھی اقبال کے تصور ابلیس پر روشنی ڈالتی ہے۔ نظم ایک دلچسپ مکالمے کی شکل میں ہے جس میں جبرئیل اپنے ہمدم دیرینہ شیطان سے بڑے دوستانہ لہجے میں پوچھتا ہے کہ جہاں ِ رنگ و بو کا حال کیا ہے۔ ؟ ذرا ہمیں بھی بتائو شیطان اس کے جواب میں کہتا ہے کہ جہاں عبادت ہے سوز و ساز وردو جستجو ہے۔ جبریل اُسے کہتا ہے کہ آسمانوں پر ہر وقت تیرا ہی چرچا رہتا ہے۔ کیا یہ ممکن نہیں کہ تو خدا سے اپنے گناہوں کی معافی مانگ لے اور پھر ذات باری کا قرب حاصل کرے جواب میں شیطان کہتا ہے کہ میر ے لئے اب یہ ممکن نہیں میں آسمان پر آکر کیا کروں گا۔ وہاں کی خاموشی میں میرا دم گھٹ کر رہ جائے گا۔ آسمان پر زمین کی سی گہما گہمی اور شورش کہاں ہے۔ جبریل یہ باتیں سن کر بہت ناخوش ہوتے ہےں اور دکھ بھرے لہجے میں کہتے ہیں کہ اسی انکار کی وجہ سے تو نے اپنے مقاماتِ بلند کھو دئیے ہیں ۔ اور اسی سے تو نے فرشتوں کی بے عزتی کرائی ہے تمہارے اس اقدام کے بعد فرشتوں کی خدائی نظروں میں کیا آبرو رہی؟ اس پر شیطان چمک کر جواب دیتا ہے کہ تم آبرو کا نام لیتے ہو؟ کیا تمہیں معلوم نہیں کہ میر ی جرات سے ہی کائنات وجود میں آئی اور میری ہی وجہ سے عقل کی ضرورت پڑی ۔ تیرا کیا ہے تو تو ساحل پر کھڑا ہو کر تماشا دیکھنے والوں میں سے ہے۔ تو خیر و شر کی جنگ کو بس دور سے دیکھتا ہے۔ میری طرف دیکھو کہ میں طوفان کے طماچے کھاتا ہوں یہ میں ہی تھا جس کی بدولت آدم کے قصے میں رنگینی پیدا ہوئی ورنہ یہ ایک بے روح داستان تھی ابلیس و جبریل خیالات کی بلندی کے اعتبار سے اردو شاعری میں ایک معرکے کی چیز ہے۔
ہے مری جرات سے مشت خاک میں ذوق نمو
میرے فتنے جامہ عقل و خرد کا تارو و پُو
دیکھتا ہے تو فقط ساحل سے رزمِ خےر و شر
کون طوفاں کے طماچے کھا رہا ہے میں کہ تو
حضر بھی بے دست و پا ، الیاس بھی بے دست و پا
میرے طوفاں یم بہ یم ، دریا بہ دریا جُو بہ جُو
گر کبھی خلوت میسر ہو تو پوچھ اللہ سے
قصہ آدم کو رنگیں کر گیا کس کا لہو
میں کھٹکتا ہوں دل یزادں میں کانٹے کی طرح
تو فقط اللہ ہو ، اللہ ہو ، اللہ ہو
اقبال کی یہ نظم پڑھتے وقت کوئی شخص شیطان کی عظمت و شکوہ سے متاثر ہوئے بغیر نہیں رہ سکتا۔ یہاں اقبال نے اُسے ”سوزِ درونِ کائنات “ قرار دیا ہے۔

بھائی بڑی طویل تفسیر ہوگی ان اشعار کی ، کبھی ملاقات ہو یا کسی اور موقع پر بیان کرنے کی کوشش کی جا سکتی ہے
ویسے میں نے پہلے بھی کہا تھا کہ اقبال کو سمجھنا اتنا آسان نہیں ہے
ایک ایک مصرے کو بیان کرنے کے لیے کتابیں لکھنی پڑتیں ہیں

jo bat aam aadmi ki aql-e-saleem main na aye aur fitnay ka andesha ho hazrat sahib to aisi baton se khalq-e-khuda ko shash-o-panj men mubtala karnay se kahin lakh darjay bahtar hay k apnay tasawwuf aur fikr ki gahraee ko apnay paas rakhay... deen-e-islam men hujjat yeh nahi k aap ka demagh kia soch raha hay aur kis sense men kisi cheez ya amal ko le raha hay hay.. hujjat sirf zahri ada kiye gaye alfaz hain... Agar Mansoor hallaj ko phansi per charhaya gaya to logon ne kaha buht baray wali ko phansi pr charha dia gaya.. kabhi kisi ne yeh nahi dekha k us ki phansi ka hukum naama kis Aalim-e-deen ne dia.. Agar aap ki knowledge men yeh baat hay to zuror mustafeed farmaiye ga... Mujh naaqis ki knowledge k mutabik Hazrat Abu yusuf ne ghaliban un ki phansi ka hukum dia.. kion dia gaya.. kia Hazrat Abu yusuf jaisay faqeeh ko Mansoor Hallaj ki tasawwuf men kahi gaae baat samajh nahi aaee thi kia...
Khuda k hukmon pr aitraz aur shikway krnay ka to Ambiya-e-kiraam(A.S) ne kabhi nahi socha Allama sahib ne kis haisyat men iss qadar toheen amaiz andaaz men Khuda se takhatub kia? aur phir apnay hi diye gaye ilzamat ko khud hi justify krnay k liye jawab-e-shikwa likha...
Iss saray amal se mujhe aap yeh bayan farma dain k deen-e-islam ki kon si khidmat hoi? aisa tasawwuf aur aisay alfaz jis se khalq-e-khuda k gumrah honay ka andesha ho aisi tahreeron ko darya burd kar diya jana chaye .. na k anay walay modern mazhabi scholors ko apni dukaan chamkanay k liye apni marzi ki explainintion krnay men asaania hoti rahin...
