KINDLY, explain this . It would really be a great help.

Iblees (Lucifer/Satan) replying to Hazrat Jibrael AS (Gabriel):

I am so courageous that all happenings/innovations/cultures (or civil differences) in the world are because of me
My tactics are enough to bypass brains of people
You (Gabriel) are watching battle between good & evil, only from distance
Its u or me who is actually on trial/ under testing
Prophet Khizar (supposed to help people invisibly) and Prophet Ilyas (supposed to help people invisibly, a jewish concept) remained silent and not direct part of these activities
The floods I am bringing are actual happenings
When get a chance to talk to Allah in loneliness, you (Gabriel) should ask Him
Who brought colors to story of Adam?
Its actually me, whom Allah is pissed off
You (Gabriel) are only meant for silent prayers
------------------------
Means, overall Satan is showing his sense of superiority over Gabriel

Re: Need help in understanding Iqbal's stanzas...................

Poetry is an expression of thought and it all depends on the mood of the writer happiness, unhappiness, unfulfillment reflects in the poetry. In one of the programs his son, Javid Iqbal, has stated that his dad himself did not know what he wrote.

The best I can make of this thought is trying to make some sense of this world of senses that all of us are made of. Senses are merely a speck of dust who are very demanding never satisfied very possessive.

Wow Uni
You said so much without saying any thing!
And the poor guy translated it into english for you.
I bet you you could have said this thing without the translation
and nobody would have noticed!:)

When talking about bringing color to Adam's story, why Iqbal used the word 'lahu'? What does it refer to?

Good, I like a man who asks questions. I believe it he is referring to the death ,without it, there would be no inglorious Adam's tale.

yes end of his highest position pride and he was considered satan mardood

I could never understand why Satan is associated with pride. I think he had a very strong case for not bowing down to man. Satan proved how stupid a man is by tricking him into eating an Apple. I think in this case its a chit-chat about the man.

these are rain gods in various mythologies...................

When we read mythology ,we feel as if there is similarity b/w various cultures, as if these cultures all were intoxicated by a single being - DEVIL HIMSELF!

jo bat aam aadmi ki aql-e-saleem main na aye aur fitnay ka andesha ho hazrat sahib to aisi baton se khalq-e-khuda ko shash-o-panj men mubtala karnay se kahin lakh darjay bahtar hay k apnay tasawwuf aur fikr ki gahraee ko apnay paas rakhay... deen-e-islam men hujjat yeh nahi k aap ka demagh kia soch raha hay aur kis sense men kisi cheez ya amal ko le raha hay hay.. hujjat sirf zahri ada kiye gaye alfaz hain... Agar Mansoor hallaj ko phansi per charhaya gaya to logon ne kaha buht baray wali ko phansi pr charha dia gaya.. kabhi kisi ne yeh nahi dekha k us ki phansi ka hukum naama kis Aalim-e-deen ne dia.. Agar aap ki knowledge men yeh baat hay to zuror mustafeed farmaiye ga... Mujh naaqis ki knowledge k mutabik Hazrat Abu yusuf ne ghaliban un ki phansi ka hukum dia.. kion dia gaya.. kia Hazrat Abu yusuf jaisay faqeeh ko Mansoor Hallaj ki tasawwuf men kahi gaae baat samajh nahi aaee thi kia...

Iss saray amal se mujhe aap yeh bayan farma dain k deen-e-islam ki kon si khidmat hoi? aisa tasawwuf aur aisay alfaz jis se khalq-e-khuda k gumrah honay ka andesha ho aisi tahreeron ko darya burd kar diya jana chaye .. na k anay walay modern mazhabi scholors ko apni dukaan chamkanay k liye apni marzi ki explainintion krnay men asaania hoti rahin...
Aap ka demagh aap ko mubarak ho ... Ab aap ki taraha iss jahan men hr kisi ko to tasawwuf pr uboor hasil nahi Qaisar bhayya...

Only 'wadaich' OR 'Muhammad Tauseef A. Bajwa' can tell you the real worth and meanings of this Iqbal's poetry. Others are 'equally' qualified like you. It never means; that the old/senior are ignorant. Point is majority avoids 'controversy' and sick minded fools.

No denial above translation is excellent but true depth can only be understood much, much better in URDU alone. Where is our GENIUS (wadaich)?

Hai Meri Jurraat Se Musht-e-Khak Mein Zauq-e-Namoo
Mere Fitne Jama-e-Aqal-o-Khirad Ka Taar-o-Poo

With my boldness I make this handful of dust rise up.
My mischief weaves the garment that reason wears.

Dekhta Hai Tu Faqat Sahil Se Razm-e-Khair-o-Shar
Kon Toofan Ke Tamanche Kha Raha Hai, Main Ke Tu?

From the shore you watch the clash of good and evil.
Which of us suffers the buffets of the stormsyou or I?

Khizar Bhi Bedast-o-Pa, Ilyas Bhi Bedast-o-Pa
Mere Toofan Tam-Ba-Yam, Darya-Ba-Darya, Joo-Ba-Joo

Both Khizr and Ilyas feel helpless:
The storms I have stirred up rage in oceans, rivers, and streams.

Gar Khalwat Mayassir Ho To Puch Allah Se
Qissa-e-Adam Ko Rangeen Kar Gya Kis Ka Lahoo!

If you are ever alone with God, ask Him:
Whose blood coloured the story of Adam?

Main Khatakta Hun Dil-e-Yazdan Mein Kante Ki Tarah
Tu Faqat Allah Hoo, Allah Hoo, Allah Hoo !

I rankle in Gods heart like a thorn. But what about you?
All you do is chant He is God over and over!

Though I don't find myself suitable enough for providing concrete information upon it yet would try to explain the epitome in the shortest possible form (which would be insufficient too as it needs a big article or a verbal discussion which isn't possible upon the internet).

The self-righteousness and the pride of iblees is presented here while dependability of humans and angels upon Allah.

isi liye mein arz kerta hoon jo maan janay ki salahiyyat rakhta hai voh wali hai.

For those who think there is anything negative in Iqbal's poetry, they don't spend enough years to read concerning branches of knowledge. It takes years and years of research before even being able to speak upon karl marx, leave alone Maulana Rum and his disciple Iqbal.

Old friend, how goes the world of colour and smell?

Iblees
IBLIS

Souz-o-Saaz-o-Dard-o-Dagh-o-Justujooye-o-Arzoo

Har Ghari Aflak Par Rehti Hai Teri Guftugu
Kya Nahin Mumkin Ke Tera Chaak-e-Daman Ho Rafoo

They are all talking about you in the celestial spheres.
Could your ripped garment still be mended?

Iblees
IBLIS

Aah Ae Jibreel! Tu Waqif Nahin Iss Raaz Se
Kar Gya Sarmast Mujh Ko Toot Kar Mera Saboo

Ah, Gabriel, you do not know this secret:
When my wine-jug broke it turned my head.

Ab Yahan Meri Guzar Mumkin Nahin, Mumkin Nahin
Kis Qadar Khamosh Hai Ye Alam-e-Be-Kaakh-o-Koo!

I can never walk this place again!
How quiet this region is! There are no houses, no streets!

Jis Ki Naumeedi Se Ho Souz-e-Daroon-e-Kainat
Uss Ke Haq Mein ‘Taqnatu’ Acha Hai Ya ‘La-Taqnatu’ ?

One whose despair (hopelessness) warms the heart of the universe
What suits him best, ‘Give up hope’ or Don’t give up hope!

Jibreel
GABRIEL

Kho Diye Inkaar Se Tu Ne Maqamat-e-Buland
Chashm-e-Yazdaan Mein Farishton Ki Rahi Kya Abroo!

You gave up exalted positions when you said “No.”
The angels lost face with God—what a disgrace that was!
