US diplomat Bryan D. Hunt meets Altaf Hussain
KARACHI, Aug 21 (APP): US diplomat, Bryan D. Hunt met with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Chief Altaf Hussain at the International Secretariat, of MQMs office in London.The meeting lasted for nearly three hours and different issues of mutual interest came under discussion, said a statement issued by MQM here on Saturday.The flood devastations, relationship between Pakistan and US, war against terrorism, the role of Pakistan Army in flood relief to the affected people and the overall political situation of the country, came under discussion.
During the meeting, Altaf Hussain briefed the diplomat about the plight of millions of Pakistanis were living shelter less.
They were compelled to drink contaminated water resulting, waterborne diseases as this situation is becoming from bad to worse, he added.
Altaf Hussain informed Bryan D. Hunt that Pakistan is playing a vital role in war against terrorism and Pakistans army should not be ignored as they are now fighting for Pakistans survival.
He also said that the Army is playing a valuable role in relocating people, affected by heavy floods and in their rehabilitation.
He further said that it was the need of the hour that the international community particularly United States to help the people so that flood stricken people could be saved from starvation.
Altaf Hussain said that there is need to adopt a realistic and practical approach to the regional issues.
Altaf Hussain said that the MQM was the only secular, liberal and democratic political party of the country that seeks to represent middle class people of the country.
He said that the MQM was in favor of inter-faith harmony and believed in a liberal and democratic society where each religious entity would have equal rights.
The US diplomat said the US would not leave Pakistan in this hour of crisis and provide help to the flood victims.
He lauded the efforts of MQM after the devastating earthquake in 2005 and hoped that MQM would play a leading role in rehabilitation of the people, affected by the floods.
The members of the MQM Rabita Committee in London were also present during the meeting.

This is very alarming
If I were the PM/Pres I would order the parliamentary committee to summon MQM and make them disclose the content of discussion between the 2H, Hussein and Hunt. 2H could not have been discussing what to cook for dinner tonight, or what to wear on the next date.
When a leader, specially if not in govt, starts meeting foreign diplomats, there is something desire behind the scene. Shiekh Mujeeb met Mrs. G andhi in Agartala, and you know the rest from there.
Also, since Mush does not have the popularity that US needs to installed their puppet, they must have written off Mush, and Zardari has already been written off long time ago.
It's also possible that Obama has sent H to meet H and hammer out plans for next election. US has only one ACE left and that is power hungry, a murderer, AH. the US can control and maneuver AH, because of his record, any which way they want just as in case of Zardari. If Zardari disobeys his master's voice, he can be charged with money laundering and what else. If AH tries to disobey, when in power, will be discredit and charged with murders.

ub raha sawal IK ka, to we all know they would never want to see IK in power, because IK's vision is strong and developed Pakistan by 'talking' to Talibans and perhaps expelling American soldiers.
Now it will be up to the Paki people whether they prove themselves to be stupids again as they did in case of PPP or, they have learned their lessons and shy away from PPP/MQM. time will tell.
But given the media, monetary, and political power that America has, I find hard to comprehend that anybody would be able to stop them from installing AH.
The more I think the more I am convinced that the only choice Pakis have is either Pakistani Patriots OR PTI. Since PTI is already active in Pak politics, and ZH is not in politics, Pakistanis MUST vote PTI if they want to save the country unless I am in politics by then. Allah can help me get in politics as easy as saying 'kun' then fa-yakuoon.
