Some brothers on this forum believe that it is impossible for IK to come to power simply because the US wont allow it. And even IK comes to power, he wont be allowed to do what he wishes. And there is truth in this statement. After all, U.S has connections and when those connections dont work, they have bullying power to bring us to our knees. This is a reality. And IK has shown and proved over and again that he wont take dictation from anyone, be it US. So the question is, can Pakistan and IK survive without U.S?
Take the case of a small country of Cuba whose leader was Fidel Castro. NOW READ THIS AND DECIDE IF IT HAS ANY SIMILARITIES WITH IK AND PAKISTAN. Castro was born in a wealthy family, educated in private schools, studied Law, and only joined politics to do something about corruption and to introduce reforms. Castro practiced Law to help poor win their rights. He wanted Change (Azadi / Inqilaab). But he soon realized that HE CAN NEVER COME TO POWER THROUGH ELECTIONS. So he started a revolution in 1952 and became Prime Minister in 1959 (after 7 years of revolution). During those 7 years , Fulgencio Batista (read NS) was ruling the country with full backing from U.S. Batista instituted a brutal police state (like Punjab Police). His rule was marked by severe corruption, little concern for social needs, and violent crackdowns against people to maintain order (any similarities with Model Town incident and Islamabad incidents?)
U.S. didnt like Castro's revolution. So this is what U.S. did. They imposed a total embargo in 1962 on Cuba TILL DAY. In fact, in 1996, the severity of the embargo was such that U.S could SUE *any* corporation anywhere in the world that did business with Cuba !! Despite, U.N General Assembly's votes (all the world countries opposed the embargo) to end the embargo, U.S. and Israel has resisted it. U.S. tried everything to destabilize Castro's government, including several assassination attempt, but each time their plans failed. U.S tried to destroy Cuba's economy but they failed. for 50 years now, U.S. has tried to intimidate, destabilize, and overthrow Castro government but has failed !!!!
Achievements of Castro: Fidel Castro provided world-class FREE health and dental care for ALL THE PEOPLE OF CUBA and FREE education through the University Level. So much so that World Health Organization (WHO) said that cuban Health care system is a "MODEL FOR THE WORLD". Cuba has virtually eliminated illiteracy. The education system is the BEST in the hemisphere. Isnt the same ISlamic Welfare State IK talks about? Castro abolished Capitalism, and nationalized public utilities, carried out land-reforms, closed down mafia owned casions, and ended corruption.
Failures of Castro (if you think so): He kept all the powers to himself. He hated democracy. There were no elections, nothing. He ruled supreme. But he ruled for the people.
so my question to all those brothers here is that if Fidel Castro can fight his army, the U.S. and the world, for 50 years, then why cant IK also do and achieve the same??
