Only somebody with political sense will say this, barring the emotional attachments and idealistic views but lets see , I hope the scenario remains like this to prove my point... But to be honest, I also dont want it to remain like this, I am of no sympathy with Zardari and co. but just saying the reality which is a bit harsh and bitter....
It is not reality but a baseless illusion. You do not know dynamics of Pakistani politics and changing ground realities. Ok lets discuss this in detail.
1. Is PPP still a majority party? NO. Last time, with NRO, Hatred against Musharaf, BB support for CJ, and the biggest factor, sympathy vote due to death of BB were the major factors why people voted for PPP. Here, the most important thing is that even with so many factors, PPP still had to make alliance with number of Political parties to keep their majority. This time there is no such factor, but all these factors are replaced by corruption, allegations, Charisma of BB replaced by the corrupt face of Zardari etc. And above all, their is no sympathy vote that played a key role in last elections for many seats where PPP won by a narrow margin.
2. Another key factor... Reason why PML Q and musharaf faced defeat is due to our strong media always target ruling party and goverement. Busharaf under estimated that and paid the price. Today, this same media is targeting PPP govt and you can see corruption and mismanagement stories all over the media on every channel.
3. Every single survey is clear on one thing and indicates one clear fact that PPP is losing its support all over Pakistan. Their support in Balochistan, KPK and Punjab is decreased with such rapid speed that they now lost the power to play any future political role in these provicnes.
4. Now, lets analyze some of their Political allies. First, ANP will not win more that 3-4 seats in next elections. Their last victory was just because of boycott by PTI and JI. At that time, PTI was most popular with 18% support in NWFP. If PTI and JI would have took part in elections, they could have 15-20 seats from KPK at least. In next elections, PTI and JI will be in majority and will make govt for sure, so no ANP support for Zardari in next elections. Now, PML Q is already evaporating, the faction that is part of current govt will evaporate completely as soon as the interim govt will be in power. A good and intelligent seat adjustment between PTI and JI can cause a significant damage to MQM in Karachi.
5. Believe me, many in PPP can already sense that they are not coming into power in next elections but jumping from the ruling party to another when in power is not a sensiblt thing to do. Many from PPP especially from KPK and Punjab will switch parties as soon as interim govt will be there. So, PPP will evaportae from all provinces except Sindh.
6. Even in Sindh, Sindhi nationalists are becoming more and more popular as an alternate of PPP.
Now, please wake up from dream and acknowledge reality.
